NO
Calcium for a nutritional supplement needs to be given with Vitamin D. Good quality food and proper worming should be edequate for most pups. Calcium supplements require Vitamin D to be absorbed & utilized .

You can buy a calcium supplement real cheap at most any dollar store. I use the pills like we would take. Don't know about using Tums, seems like there would be other things in Tums that may not be good for a pup. I use the 500mg.

pet tabs calcium.
Giving a dog or puppy calcium supplements can cause their legs to grow abnormal and start looking kind of bow-legged. If you want to give your dog any type of supplement for their bones, then give it vitamin C. Calcium will just do more harm than good.

Cod Liver Oil is a safe supplement, but unless your pup has a specific problem, it's best not to load up on Calcium & other nutrients for bone growth as this can cause abnormal skeletal development. Have you read the TUMS label & seen the other ingedients included? You can cause problems by pumping your pup full of extras. I've been raising dogs for 60+ years & have learned that quality dogfood and proper worming are USUALLY all that's needed. If you want to give a supplement, then take John Nanneman's suggestion of using Pet Tabs.
