Pic’s: Hunting on Snow on the ND/Manitoba Border

About four inches on the ground Friday night, and it made for some great hunting both nights this weekend. I hunt alone and the country is so thick and swampy I usually cast only one dog at a time.

“PR” Huck (Cold Sweat pup)
Treed his coon on backside of Strawberry Lake on a cold track that heated to hot.

“PR” NITECH Sloopy (full sister to WLDCH Xjr.)
Treed at Island Lake –not bad for an old girl

“PR” NITECH Frito (Cold Sweat)
Treed DEEP at Braeger Lake. When the wind is right he hunts at a run with his head up and the coons have to climb whatever they can reach first. He also does a nice job on cold tracks. I can't get enough of this dog.

Warmer here today at 68 degrees. Snow's mostly gone. Soon temps will drop again and then I have to stay away from the hill country for a couple weeks or risk losing a dog through the ice.

GO FIGURE! I JINXED us! Anyone who watched the Patriots football game today... saw the snow WE had! LOL... It actually accumulated! Poor Titans were LOST in the slippery cold stuff... pretty awful game... We're just a few miles from the stadium. JUST before the game I was on the treadmill... looked out the window at the BIGGEST flakes...and I Cracked up...I KNEW I had jinxed us...

You'all have a Much worse winter than we do but I will still complain all winter...
