Mine had it as pups. 1cc for 30 days. If not cleared up another 30 days. That was for 50#. Ivomec is pretty safe, 1.5cc for a larger dog might work. I'd have to read up to figure out the exact dose.

It will cure it as well, unless your dog has such a sorry immune system it can't fight anything off. If thats the case then I'd consider taking care of it better, or getting a dog without a genetic defect.

ProMeris monthly also helps. Or putting Nustock on it as well as the oral Ivomec.

ivermection-
this product takes about 4 days from 1 dose to get up to a level (ppm) to kill worms, a slow build inside the animal. doing it daily at this rate seems(i don't know this) that it might after several days reach a lethal dose. i would not do this without a vet directly telling to and under their supervision so you have a recourse if something happens. this product IS systemic in the animal- bloodstream, kidneys, you name it. it only takes 1/10th of a cc per 11lbs. to kill worms or fleas. stays in animal about 24-25 days. very lipophilic(fats) of which the brain is made up of, so much might concentrate there.

nu-stock has a red mange claim, will definitely help grow the hair back. or shapley's m-t-g.

Yep change oil in car then use the used oil to soak dog. The carbonmonoxide will kill the mites. Over doseing on Ivomec will harm the liver. Houndsmen done that around here till they figured out the right dose for heart worms.

Does it matter what age or size of dog ? Sure be easier on a dog in the winter.

Waste oil......

Nothing like old burnt motor oil. I have used it for years and not just on mange (use it on most any skin problem) it works every time.

Used engine oil (never use new oil) with powdered sulfur mixed in. I used about a gallon of oil and about 2 oz sulfur.

Maybe it's poison but it works and I've NEVER lost a dog to it yet, NEVER had it make one sick, and it will cure the mange. I would not use it in cold weather.

We use

Burnt motor oil & drug store powdered Sulphur Highly succesfully

Posted by HOBO on 10-15-2009 04:47 PM:

Burnt oil will NOT cure Red Mange. While it might cure regular mange it does nothing for Red Mange.

the best thing is to put the dog down. it comes from the female is what the vet told me. to pervent this problem if you keep the hound do not do not breed him or her the pups will have this problem. use motor oil will not will not cure this or help it. it is diferance with this mange and the other manges. motor oil will work on other mange but not this kind. the vets do have some stuff that will help called mite a ban but wont cure it.

Red Mange

Is systemic, and that's why treatment requires INTERNAL dosing instead of TOPICAL, such as diesel oil, etc. Dosage is 1CC for adult hound size dogs. For something the size of a Dachshund, you can give 1/2 CC per day. Red Mange will probably return - sometimes FREQUENTLY & will need to have the treatment repeated. It's USUALLY a genetic problem & dogs with this problem should not be used for breeding. If it's not a genetic problem it can indicate an underlying health problem that a Vet could treat.

You could also look into colloidal silver.

Tatic, its a dip used on swine and cattle. 19 cc per a gallon of water. Dip your dog and give 1 cc Ivomec for a week. Immune system after that ought to take care of it as they get older. this is most common in dogs 1-2 years old.

www.nustock.com This stuff helps everything skin related. I don't think you can cure red mange, but you can control it.
