Sidelined By Injury....

Looks like Pride poked his eye last night while hunting. I noticed it on the way back to the truck but by the time we got back to the truck he seemed a lil better. This afternoon when I got home and went to feed I noticed it was swelled. So after a quick trip to the Vet and three meds later we're done for awhile.....

I have a dog here that got it poked once and it ended up fine. the next time he got a thorn in it like a splinter that required surgery to removed. It was a real mess but he healed up fine and his eyeball still works

OUCH!

Sending Healing thoughts and Prayers for Pride!

Big Ouch.... I think EVERYONE of us humans needs to protect OUR eyes out in the woods! I wear my motorcycle glasses(perscription)... I don't wanna poke my eye on a LOW branch... (I know some of my "friends" will make some comment on my height...being about the same as the dawgs... LOL....

Best wishes on a QUICK recovery, Heather

Janice ran a stick in her eye the week before the World hunt in 07.
We couldnt find anything in it and the drops the vet gave us were useless.
When youd turn her loose she showed no signs of it bothering her, but any other time she would dig at it constantly to the point it was a pain to lead her back to the truck because shed try to walk on 3 legs and dig at her eye with the other.
After the finals we took her in and they dug an unbelievable amount of tree bark out from behind her eye.
No meds were gonna help her, so if your dog dont get better soon hobo, he may still have a pc of wood in there.

Thanks for the info Elvis.

Yesterday afternoon when I saw how bad it looked he had 'junk' right where he had been poked. Today the 'junk' is off the eye but the eye is cloudy looking and you can see where it hit his eye. He also ats alot better than he was yesterday seems more like himself today. I have to take him back Friday for them to look at it.

Just got back from taking Pride for the revisit. The vet said it was looking GREAT and to keep doing what I've been doing and they would see him again in a week.

This EASY living must be to his likin as he's gained 2lbs since Tuesday....
