Nice Dog Work Last Night w/Pics

Theo and I dropped both dogs on a recently cut corn field. Clyde went south opened and treed on top a steep ridge. Ellie worked a coon north along the river , crossed the river and treed in a oak.
Both dogs showed good independent dog work. Clyde treed for better than an hour before we could get to him. Clyde had a coon in a tall thin maple. Ellie showed she could swim a river and tree a coon without help.
Both dogs were in ears shout of each other but would not quit until treeing the coon they started. Doesn't get much better than this.

Cool!

Nice picture of Clyde treeing! That coon with Ellie looks pretty good sized and healthy for our neck of the woods.SHE looks a bit worried in that picture... it's cute...

Thanks !

Boy !
I'll tell you , Nothing more fun than a crisp fall night running hounds.

Heather, Ellie is not use to things falling out of the trees
Then getting back to the truck and more pics. She just wants to be out running.

Jim

LOL.. I still think it's a miracle I figured out the pix thing... it did take a few days.... I'm the least techie person I know! I take that back...my 90 yr old Mum is worse....

Enjoy the COLD tonight! Forget exactly where you are but here in Wrentham we had ice on the water this morning. NOT ready for this yet! Good for hunting though I imagine? I only hunted summers as a kid so I don't know too much about when's best... when we went up to NH a few yrs ago I know it was COLD...but forget if it was fall or spring? LOL... See... I"m no techie... and I'm not hunting expert either!

Good luck Theo! and you're welcome, Heather

Raining here now... chilly nasty.... Everyones complaining winter is HERE! LOL... We are so spoiled... Nice you had good weather for your hunt!

Jim, I should come up and hunt around the Rutland area before you kill all the coons..It appears to be better running up there than the s---holes I'm hunting in down here...LOL Best of luck..

Ice Storm Damge Makes For Tough Walking

Matty,

Woods aroung here sure can make for some tough walking with the downed trees from last winters ice storm. Not a lot a coon in my area so I shoot more with a camera.
Good to hear you are still at it !!

Jim
