Rule Question
This is probably a dumb question, but i do not competition hunt. A buddy asked me about it so I decided i would post it on here and see what the real rule is. Rule 4(f). Scenerio.. If Dogs A and B are treed. You can hear them both fine.. C comes in and starts treeing hard. Only dog C can be heard treeing for 3 plus minutes. Dogs A and B are not considered minused correct even if they are not barking because the rule states that AT LEAST one dog considered tree is barking every 2 minutes? All three dogs are still on the tree when the judge arrives, but just C is barking.

Was C ever declared treed before arriving to the tree???
If C is not treed, the 5 continues to run on A & B. Dog C must be declared treed in order for dog C to break the 5.
I was in this very situation once. My dog rolled up 3rd on a tree and the other 2 that had been declared treed shut up at that time so I didn't tree my dog. Waited till the 5 caught the other two then I treed mine for 125. I was smiling ear to ear untill we scored the tree and found my dog all alone under a housecat.

I think you mean 2 not 5. Thinking about the house cat must still have you shook up.

I guess my main question.. Is if 3 dogs are declared treed.. Not all have to be continuosly barking correct? Just ONE dog out of the declared treed dogs has to bark atleast once every 2 minutes. Not EVERY dog atleast once every two minutes. Hope this cleared it up

Yes you are correct as long as 1 of the dogs declared treed is barking it keeps the time rolling.

Is it one dog on each tree if it is a split tree? Or just one dog for all trees if they are split?

All dogs are on same tree, all been declared treed and have shown to be by barking, but 2 stopped and only 1 is actively treeing for >2 minutes. The two that quit barking should not be minused becuase they quit barking according to 4(f). That's how I understand it
