english hound needs registered / options ???
I think I know the answer to this but thought I'd ask anyway.
I'll try to make this short. A good friend of mine has a nephew who has a couple of hounds. One is a male directly of St. Nick. He's a very very nice hound. I bred to him one time and had problems with the nephew, we'll call him Mr. X., getting paperwork done and sent in to performance register the stud..... anyway my friend calls me a while back (like 5 months ago) and says He's got Mr. X's coon hounds- my friend doesn't coon hunt anymore. Turns out Mr. X went through a divorce, has some personal problems, problems with other family and quit hunting. My friend also found he quit feeding and watering his dogs so he took them to his house to kennel them and take care of them. He informed Mr. X that he had the hounds and Mr. X said , "whatever, do what you want with them." Mr. X is no longer taking or returning phone calls.
So anyway my friend gave me this nice male so I could hunt him. He's bred very nice and is a great hunting dog. I know his UKC number but don't have his papers. Mr. X can't seem to get them dug up and won't return phone calls. Is there any way I can get this dogs papers in my name from UKC. I assume I can't and I'm happy the hound is healthy, taken care of and hunting again but I would like to have him properly registered if possible- for one he'd do well in the hunts and for two he really deserves to put more pups on the ground. Any suggestions?

If the dog was never permanently registered with us, then the breeder would have to complete an Application for Duplicate Registration Certificate and send it in to us. We would then issue the breeder another set of temporary papers on the dog and they can sign those papers over to you. This would be the only way to get your dog registered with us, since the dog is already on puppy papers.
