Hey ladies, just thought I would see how many of us are chasing the ringtails, anybody in and around NC?

Posted by SCBluetickGal on 10-12-2009 06:08 PM:

I'm from SC, but we're in the upstate. Not too terribly far from NC.

Go Carolina girls! I'm in south central NC near Midland. So I'm really close to SCBluetickGal and I go to the mountains up around Marion every chance I get, so maybe close to you, too.
Hey Frank, yes I'm Christie, I was with Steve Lisenby and Lamar Blalock. No I still haven't found what I'm looking for, but I got a nice little cur that keeps us busy until then. Just have to keep my ears open. To anyone else out there, I lost my B&T this past spring to cancer. Breaks my heart that I didn't get a pup when I still had her in the woods. She was a great dog and would have been a great teacher for a young one.

Lisa you GOTTA be tough. I lived in those mountains for about a year. It is the most god awful place (other that WV) that I have ever seen. Your tougher than me.

WE HUNT AT LEAST 3-6 NIGHTS PER WEEK!

I'LL ADMIT I'VE SLACKED OFF IN THE LAST FEW YEARS, BUT I'M GETTING THAT ITCH AGAIN. I HAD SOME BACK PROBLEMS ABOUT THE LAST 3-4 YEARS, THAT I'VE FINALLY GOTTEN OVER, AND I'VE BEEN GOING MORE THAN I HAVE IN THE PAST.

WHEN I FIRST STARTED GOING WITH QUINCY, I MADE EVERY STEP HE MADE REGARDLESS OF WHERE IT WAS.

IF YOU ARE EVER UP AROUND CHEROKEE GIVE US A HOLLER, WE GO QUITE OFTEN!

It does make you tough but that is when it comes in handy having a 12 and 15 year old boys to beat you to the top of the Mtn.

If you can hunt here you can hunt anywhere but would not traded my mtns for anywhere else.....Atleast not yet!!!

I coon hunt also. But I really don't have a choice if it comes to my husband and 2 sons. I'm kinda outnumbered. Oh, well. I really do love the sport. I show also. I like that even more. Wish there was more female hunters. I also deer hunt. We are going to go hog hunting in GA at the in-laws.

Anyone in middle Tennessee?

I coon hunted for years from the time I was a teenager and then again about 6 or 7 years ago.
I'd love to go again but need a hunting buddy.
Any other women hunters around the Nashville area?

thanks for the replies

I've been told that it is rare to find other lady hunters. It's nice to see all the posts. Well, I got into coon huntin about 5 years ago. I was in the NC mtns bear huntin. When I got my bear the guy whose land I was on was going coon huntin that night and asked if Marc and I wanted to go. Well I was hooked the moment the first hound opened and the rest is history.
