IF YOUR DAD OWNS TWO DOGS, SAY YOU HANDLIN ONE, HIM WITH THE OTHER, THEN YES THEY WILL HAVE TO BE PUT ON SEPERATE CASTS UNLESS, THERE IS ONLY ENOUGH DOGS FOR ONE CAST.

UNLESS, I'M TOTALLY WRONG, YOU WILL NOT ACTUALLY OWN THE DOG UNTIL THE PAPERS ARE TRANSFERRED.

AND I REMEMBER READING SOMEWHERE IF YOU ENTER THE DOG, YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO SEND THE PAPERS IN FOR OWNER TRANSFER WITHIN SO MANY DAYS.

HERE'S WHAT THE RULES SAY

1. THE “REGISTERED OWNER”

The registered owner is the individual whose name and address appears on the front of the Registration Certificate (purple or yellow) or UKC Easy Entry™ Card. If the registered owner utilizes the Registration Certificate (purple or yellow) instead of the UKC Easy Entry™ Card, they may enter the dog in the event provided that the back of the Registration Certificate is blank.

2. THE “NEW OWNER”

The new owner is an individual who has purchased a dog from the registered owner. The new owner may enter the dog provided that the Transfer of Ownership portion of the Registration Certificate (purple or yellow) is completely filled out showing the new owner as the purchaser and the registered owner as the seller. A Registration Certificate that has been signed off on the back cannot be used by an individual other than the new owner.

The registered owner is listed as owner and the new owner as handler for the event. New owners may not enter using the registered owners UKC Easy Entry™ Card.

In the event that the Transfer of Ownership portion of the Registration Certificate is not completely filled out, entry takers must insist that the new owner complete it. The new owner should be warned that they must send the Registration Certificate to UKC for transfer into their name. Once warned, club management has the right to refuse entry at following events. Altered Registration Certificates or UKC Easy Entry™ Cards are not to be accepted at any time. NOTE: The Registered Owner (seller) must fill out the back of the form completely with the exception of new owner’s ignature. With any alterations the Registration Certificate becomes void. UKC cannot be responsible for errors caused by illegible handwriting.

THE PAPERS REQUIRED FOR ENTERING EVENTS

Three different ways to enter. Submit any of the following to entry takers.

1. Registration Certificate (purple or yellow).

2. UKC Easy Entry™ Card.

3. Registration Certificate and degree (Champion or Grand Champion).

If the Master of Hounds actually follows the rules though! Hubby went on a hunt the 3rd and out of the 4 dogs in the cast 2 were owned by the same guy.

yep. they put all the Walker dogs in one cast. Was done on purpose too.

Date on the back when sold and transfered is the day that new owner own the hound!! Sending the papers in, you will find that the date sold will be on the front of papers as purchase date! When you sign the back of the papers and old owner signs off on them, he relinquishes my/ our registration rights as owner at that time and as of the the date filled in on the registration papers is now the new owner. You are the owner at that time so you legally can not reg. him in the hunt under your dads name and you handler. Date wrote in is the day you own him!! At least that's what is says on the back of the registration papers. As of Month, day and year!!

THE DOGS HAST TO BE REG IN THE HUNT UNDER THE NAME ON THE PAPERS. IT CAN NOT BE REG ON IN THE HUNT UNDER THE NEW OWNERS NAME INTILL ITS TRANSFERD IN THE NEW OWNERS NAME.

I believe that's not so!! If ya buy a hound at a hunt and the owner signs and dates the registration papers over to you. You are now the owner and have the rights to enter him in that hunt in your name. Master of hounds will date and initial papers! You are able to do this one time only!! The date on papers is when you become new owner!! Pretty sure my thinking is right because I have been invovled with it one time!! Maybe UKC can set us straight on it!!

Just what I said. this was up at a black & tan sectional. they put all four walker dogs that were there in one cast even though 2 of them were owned by the same guy.

IT DOESNT MATTER WHO IS WRITTEN DOWN ON THE STICKY CARD AS THE OWNER/HANDLER.

WHEN UKC DOES THEIR FILES, THEY BASE IT ON THE UKC NUMBER. THE WINS WILL GO UNDER WHOEVER IS THE REGISTERED OWNER OF THAT DOG AT THE TIME THAT HUNT IS TURNED IN.

IF THAT WAS THE CASE, NO ONE WOULD EVER TURN IN PAPERS, THEY'D JUST SIGN THEM THEN TELL EVERYONE THEY OWNED THE DOG.

There was 3 open casts and they put allthe walker dogs in one cast...they wanted "stacking the deck" so that a Walker could only take one place that night. the way the scores ran hat night if they had been in defferent casts a walker would have taken 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

christy it does matter whos name is on the slip. it must be the owner thats name is on the front of papers. not the name that is on the back switch would be new owner when transferd
