-- Coon and cat on same limb. (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=303241)
Coon and cat on same limb.
Hunted with my brother and his old dog off Psycho last night. First time in 6 months that either of them had been out. Dog dropped 3 times and treed three coons, nice and quick. On the last one he had a coon and a cat on the same limb about 15 feet apart. In all my years of hunting, that is the first time I seen that.
My uncle was on a cast years ago in which a coon and a possum were clearly seen in the same tree.

LOL!
That's funny! We had a turkey and coon on the same limb along the roadside here...(no dogs involved... we "treed" these ourselves...
) We thought it was pretty odd to see.
SOunds like a good hunt and memorable too!

Maybe the coon was trying to get some ...... Well Nevermind...
Beats one of my drops last night, my Convoy pup is probably the most natural accurate pup I've ever hunted. One drop he burned one up along the river, crossed the river and died on a small tree. Wasn't no cat or coon up that one... All he had was the start of a paper factory.

Up here sometimes you see a porky and a coon in the same tree.
Had a good cornfield race years ago.
Dogs went from one cornfield , crossed a fencerow into another one , and back again. Went back and forth a couple times.
When the coon finally climbed , I was where I could watch hin go up. ( no leaves on )
The dogs came in and located and that was it.
Sounded like they were chewing on something , so I went in and sure enough , they had a possum. Ran into him right at the bottom of the tree.

this is a lil off subject but has any one had a pup bring back possiums i had my blue female wen nothing was runing she would run into one and bring it back to me and bury it and one nite i walked up to her whil she was burying it (cause it took for ever for her get done burying it) and i look at that possium u couldnt even see the darn thing but then i had to sell her cause had no place to keep her (i really didnt want to
it made me sad to see her go) she was one of the best dogs ive had in a whil and since im so young and then i didnt have my own house i had to but now she trees left and right (down were i live central indiana its hard to train a pup but if u go up north u see coons like u see cows) now that she is up north

Here you unfairly blamed Jeff all those years and you should have been looking harder for the c00n
We treed a coon, turkey, and fox squirrel in one tree one time with about a foot of snow on the ground.

One of the few times I finally thought I had Nisley's Indiana Buck defeated we found a coon above the possumn. Go figure. Beat again! For some reason that hound had my number. Not to take anything away from him as he was nice.
my female treed a tree last season with 2 coon, 2 pine squirrels and a possum hanging from a vine on a far out limb.lol

Im with Qball on this
Coon & porky ...... the coon was a lot higher....We harvested him
I will have to try and find the pic but I had a female tree a coon and at the base of the tree was a possum eating a dead rabbit. i walked back to the truck and drove back home which was a lil less than a mile to get the camera cuz I knew no one was going to believe me without proof lol

funny thing replied to this post yesterday and out hunting last night with a buddy my Diego dog split treed from the other dogs and my so called buddy started laughing as we shined the tree. He treed a porky - I said no way - There it sat not 1 but 2 porkys - he starts to walk away towards other dogs laughing and I said here is the coon sitting up alittle higher - no way he replied you are minused - right here sits the coon - he had to see this coon - Diego plus - we made 6 trees around this corn seeing every coon - and 2 porkys
Around here it's not uncommon to see coon and porcupine in the same tree, especially when hunting around corn fields. When they hear your truck pull in everybody scatters and sometimes they all run up the same tree lol. Im not sure how that would be scored in a comp hunt but it could get interesting. I dont let it bother me any...it's only happened to me twice though.

I was shining a tree this past winter, and about the same time i found the coon a squirrel jumped right in front of his face.
