I never even noticed that there was one. I wouldnt have even known but I saw it on the front page of this sight AFTER I got back home.

I smoked all weekend and nobody ever said a thing. In fact, I did it several time standing right outside the Raper building.

It will be a cold day in hades before anyone tells me I cant smoke in my own truck/camper/tent anyway.

Had I saw that the entire fairgrounds was a no smoking zone, I would have just stayed home.

I don't think it slowed many down, if any at all. I saw folks smoking near and around the buildings all weekend. Folks walking around all over smoking. I know for a fact that they smoked like a freight train out in the field areas where the campers where.

I am curious to know if anyone actually got in trouble for it or not....I just didn't see any concern either way with anyone...

There were smokers there, you could smell it in the air here and there. Did they throw thier butts on the ground or were tidy bout it? At least they were not standing round little kids whose lungs are just cleanly growing, and kids that dont have a choice but to inhale the nasty addictive, expensive, high health risk habit. I'm not trashing smokers, I'm trashing the ciggarettes. I think most people dont realize they are stronger and tougher than those little paper ciggaretts. Maybe some people are just too lazy or irresponsible to let go of something that sometimes segregates them socially and/or makes them appear weak (like they have no control over thier body or the money they waste on smokes), or even appear they dont really care about thier own health (especially those with kids). Smoking is an addiction WE CHOOSE TO DO...just like WE CHOOSE TO NOT. I wish anyone reading this that is a smoker would quit....because they dont know how much better life is when YOU STOP.

amen, i haven't bought a cigarette in over 3 years. and i never smoked. but my wife did. and it was tuff, but she was tuffer. it took her about 26 years to realize it though.

I did quit once for a very long time. I was in the army, you couldnt smoke in training. I went for a long long time not smoking after that.

I made a CONSIOUS decision to start agian because I LIKED it.

That was my choice, and you and the rest of the world can kiss my ass if you dont like it.

I dont drink, I dont do drugs, I dont gamble, go to church, or lots of other bad habits. I do smoke and its nobodys business but my own.

I remember this topic from the original time. Shouldn't ban smoking outside, I do agree with banning it inside. Everyone should be able to kill themselves if thats what they want to do.

Not a smoker, but I know a lot of people who do. More power to them.

I don't smoke don't like being around the smoke. But in the state of Iowa they banned smoking in bars and resturants those are privately owned bussinesses and the gov't is telling them what to do thats CRAP if you don't like the smoke in the bars or eateries stay home nobody is forcing you go drink and eat at these establishments. It's your choice to go into these places so don't complain about it.

I dont smoke and never have (with the exception of a cigar on occasion) but I know it is addictive.
On the other hand I am not sure if it is any more addictive or costly than coonhunting.
Someone that has time time please do a cost comparison I would be interested to see the numbers.

I understand that, I myself have been discouraged about going to Church because of some of the hypocrites,and hatred, but if you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and find the right Church it can defenitly help your walk with him. You'll never cure addiction in humans ... yall could make everyone quit smoking and we'd all just have another addiction that was just as bad .. and the tobacco companies will have invested their fortunes into that market and it'd still be the same folks getting rich.

I smoke the occasional cigar ... and the folks that would tell me to quit would be some ugly , hateful old heifer that had twinkie filling coming out her face and was about to die from being fat and mean .

Every time you think you need to flap your jaws at someone .. just go out and mow the lawn , do the dishes or something like that instead ... cuz you know that stuff is piling up the whole time you sitting around worrying about other folks .
