Question

4 DOG CAST.TURNED BACK INTO DOG TRAILING DEEP,WE START TRYING TO GO THAT DIRECTION. TIME WAS PUT ON DOGS A ,AND B,FOR NOT HUNTING.DOG C, IS DEEP ,DOG D IS STRUCK.
AFTER A WHILE DOG A IS GONE,DOG B,IS STILL THERE WITH CAST.
WE WERE STANDING ON THE ROAD NOT FAR FROM THE TRUCK.
TIME IS RUNNING OUT,DOG A HANDLER THINKS HIS DOG RAN THE ROAD
SO HE WITHDRAWS TO TRY AND FIND HIM.
A BIT LATER DOG B WITHDRAWS DUE TO NOT HUNTING,HE PUTS HIM IN THE TRUCK.
ABOUT THAT TIME DOG A,COMES TREED ABOUT HALF
WAY TO DOG C .
KEEP IN MIND DOG A IS WITHDRAWN AND HUNT IS ALMOST OVER. WE HAD ABOUT 10 MINUTES LEFT IN THE CAST SO
ME AND THE JUDGE STAY ON THE RD SO WE COULD HEAR OUR DOGS TILL HUNT WAS OVER.HIS DOG WAS TO THE LEFT MINE WAS TO THE RIGHT.

DOG A HANDLER WANTS TO GET HIS DOG,SO DOG B HANDLER GOES
WITH HIM.DOG IN TRUCK STARTS BARKING SO NOW WE CANT HEAR NUTHIN. AFTER THEY STARTED INTO DOG A, DOG C, COMES TREED WITH DOG A. WE ARE DOWN TO THE LAST SECONDS AND A PLUSS TREE WILL DECIDE HUNT, SO I QUESTIONED IT. MY DOG IS HITTING UP BUT CANT HEAR HER GOOD ENOUGH FOR DOG BARKING AT TRUCK.
THE HUNT IS OVER.THEY SCORE THAT TREE WHILE I GET MINE OFF A TREE.

IT DIDNT MAKE NO DIFFERENCE IN THE OUTCOME OF THE CAST.
NO COON WAS SEEN IN THERES OR MINE.

HERE IS THE QUESTION??????
THE REASON I QUESTIONED IT WAS BECAUSE DOG C WOULDNT HAVE
HELD THE TREE FOR THE 5 MINUTES BEFORE THEY GOT TO THE TREE,
BUT HUNT TIME WAS OVER COULD HE HANDEL
DOG BEFORE 5 MINUTES ???

ANOTHER QUESTION???? JUST SAY HUNT WASNT OVER HOW DO YOU SCORE IT??

BTT

When hunt time runs out the cast can go directly to the tree. There is no 5 minutes any more when hunt time is up. If the dog was treed 3 minutes or only 30 seconds when the hunt time is up you can go directly to the tree.

It's in rule 17.

There was no interference, did'nt seem like it bothered your dog at all.

WOULD YALL QUESTION A DOG QUITTING A TRACK ALMOST OUT OF HEARING AND COVERING A DOG THAT TREED A COON,BUT IS NO LONGER PART OF THE CAST????

WOULD YOU LET THIS SITUATION BEAT YOU,OR WOULD YOU QUESTION INTERFERENCE??????

OR WOULD THIS JUST BE A BAD BREAK?????

Until it is handled it is still part of the cast. You can't prove the other dog quit his track, he may have holed it up. You don't know. Until he is handled he can still be scratched for fighting and so forth. Its not like is was a dog from a different cast or a house dog.

For some reason I'm not getting what he is wanting an answer to.

To much mumbled senerios to understand. Try breaking this down please.

But from what I did get. I don't see where any ? should have been put on the card.

But like I said before, break this down some and maybe I can understand it better

Once a dog is withdrew or scratched it needs to be handled at once to not cause interferance with the rest of the cast. If the handler of the withdrew dog was on his way to his dog treed then he didn't know the other dog was coming in until he heard it. Then he still has the responsibility to handle his dog that is withdrew. What if the other dog would have backed his dog on a slick tail? Would it have bothered you as much then? It doesn't matter if the dog trailing is a mile away and comes and backs a dog a hundred yards from you. You have so many questions you have asked but none make sense. For one you can't minus a dog for backing another dog no matter how far away it is or if you think that dog quit its track to back a dog treed. You can't call interferance on a dog barking in the box. Walk away. Hunt time is up you proceed to dogs declared treed. The five is out the window. You gotta take the good breaks with the bad ones. That is why it is competition. The best dog doesn't always win. Please specify something questionable and someone will answer it.

This would never have happened if the cast walked in the direction they intended to hunt! What has happened to us that we no longer need to do that Just cut the dogs and sit on the tail gate?

nitehawh i gotta disagree with walking after the dogs are cast, unless i get where i can smell a coon i dont see a reason to walk. When i cut a dog loose he better go hunting and i dont want to help the ones who wont. Besides this its about impossible with 4 dogs out to predict wheather your walking in the right direction.

To answer Todds question.....no, I would not question a dog quitting a track and covering that dog that was withdrawn because in UKC, quitting a track is not a minus, quitting a track AND coming in is a minus. Covering a dog that has withdrawn is not any kind of intereference. In fact UKC recognizeses very few sitiations as being intereference, The only time the UKC rulebook even mentions interference is with the "scratched for attempting to fight" rule.

So to answer your question.....no, I don't think you have a legitimate question.

Good grief reading things in ALL CAPS is a pain. Reading in a post is one thing, but I read that post after reading a 20 page document in ALL CAPS. I wanted to shoot my computer monitor.
