Any coon hunting SEX OFFENDERS?

Something was brought to our attention recently that should be shared. And, a question that needs to be answered. Does UKC do a criminal/ sex offender checks on those that sign up for ukc hunting? There are a lot of young people in those night hunts and they need to be protected from idiots that are known to prey on them. Anyone can get on line and check out who are registered sex offenders. First off you can go to the web site of your towns police or local sheriffs dept., then find and click on 'sex offender registry', and follow instructions. Another place that is easy and is for the entire US is called 'familywatchdog.us', once again follow the prompts. We all should all help and prtect others if we can, especially our young people.

I would like to start of by saying that it is more important what the sex offense is. For example: I know for a fact that if a cop catches you taking a leak on the side of the road in Mi. that is a sex offense that would require you to register. When you register it does not say that you took a leak it says you are a registered sex offender. Example 2: I know for a fact that if you are having a party in your back yard and a female at that party flashes the guests and a 14 year old boy sees it and tells his parents that you have to register as a sex offender. And because of this that person cant even attend her kids school activities or even pick them up from school, because if you are registered you are not allowed to be within a certain distance of a school. It does not say that you flashed your party it says you are a sex offender. Now dont get me wrong I think all the pervs in the world are scum. My feeling is that anyone who hurts a child should get what they got coming. When the cops catch them I think the first stop that they should make is to talk to daddy, then let the courts have the rest. I know for a fact that in some states if a couple teenagers are caught on a back road, well you know, that they both must register. I think more important then having a list of registered sex offenders they should list what they did to get on the list. So in all fairness before the lynching starts how would you feel to have that label for stop along the road after a long night of coonhunting to take a leak just to have a sheriff ask the magic question. "What are you doing?"

Man, that is disappointing. Not only is it sad that taking a leak on the side of the road is a sex offense, or two kids parking... but....

I just realized that 95% of the people that live within 50 miles of New Orleans are sex offenders by Michigan standards.... lol. That's everyone in my town!

there was a man in my neighborhood that was a registered sex offender. I looked it up online and it said what he was convicted of. he was convicted of leud acts with a female child under the age of 14. I can't remember if that is word for word but is close.
he does not live here anymore, wonder why lol. louisianna (sp) has him now, Im am sure some of you good ole cajuns can take care of him. wish I knew what city, I would let you know.
unfortunately the 14 year old boy that got the boob shot would probably fall under the same charge.

on the web ste http://www.familywatchdog.us it has colors like red is molestaition then yellow is rape blue is sexual battery and the other offences are green but i was just trying to help but u can look it up and see for ur self ( i wasnt trying so be crappy sorry if it came out that way) i do agree they need to do the background check after really looking it really dont say any thing bout peeing in public or is it refered to VICARIOUS SEXUAL GRATIFICATION i really dont no wat that means lol but it just my opinion

UKC are not the police. It is funny every time someone wants UKC to police something new it comes back to a lack of personal responsibility.

I am sorry I am a firm beleiver in personal responsibility. The moment I decided to become a father I knew my sons' safety was going to be my responsibility.

I'm not dismissing this by any means but UKC doesn't have a membership process. You don't pay a membership fee each year to participate in any events so doing a backround check on everyone entering these hunts would be impossible. How do they know who shows up at what event?

On the other hand I like and agree with Ted Nugent on this topic.

" I dont' like repeat offenders, I like dead offenders!" If this country would quit trying to reabilate these idiots and put a few more in the ground the term repeat offenders wouldn't be in our vocabulary!!

Well, that adds up to every male in S. Louisiana, because most of them have seen a boob or two, or four.

If you spend a decent amount of time in south Louisiana, you WILL see someone drunk and naked.

One of my friends back in my younger days got arrested after running from the police on foot at a hotel. This was in one of those Holidome type hotels with an indoor pool. The police chased him all over the property, and they finally "treed" him when he climbed up a palm tree next to the hot tub. He was wearing a pink cowboy hat with a coon tail hanging off the back, a pair of boots, and his fruit of the looms - and nothing else. And that is not the craziest thing I have ever seen.

Nowadays that might be a sex offense, but back then it was just disturbing the peace.

Not meaning to make light of your idea...I don't think that many are, it's just not realistic to ask this of UKC. It's our job to get involved in who our kids are subject too. Thanks for the link on this info.

I for one have someone very close to me that was molested as a very young child on through to pre-teen years. She acted out in a negitive manner and started getting into all kinds of trouble. Then she was sent to a 'girls camp for bad girls' for a while. When she final got strong enough to tell, no one beleived her because she had become such a 'bad kid'. This was some 50+ years ago. She is now 60+ years old. She had never mentioned this to anyone again until about 15 years ago. Things have come a long way today. He may have gotten away with what he did to her all these years, but she is now watching him die a slow painful death.

NOt sure how it is in MI, but in AL I can go view the sex offender website and see what they were convicted of to know it was for not taking a leak.

First of all Scum is Scum!!!

2nd of all I would hope that any child hunting at any event would be under the close supervision of their parent or adult that brought them to the event.

3rd If I know my coon hound peeps like I think I do.... If he or she was busted doing something like this on a nite hunt or at an event to a youth participant or spectator he or she would be strung up if not left in the woods somewhere lol!!!

I would never send my young child into the woods on a cast that I was not on or someone I trusted him to be with was with him.

I agree with Coondog on this one. I think some of the offenses that fall under the sex section are a little over the edge. Like the taking a leak thing or pretty drunk woman flashing people, now on the other hand an ugly woman might qualify.

I know an elderly gentleman that due to health problems has problems when it comes to getting to the restroom on time, and he says when he has to go he has to go. Well he was going on the side of a backroad out in the boonies where there happened to be some tourists lost from some city somewhere. Well they had some young children, that seen him and bang called the law, and now he is an 87 year old sex offender. What a joke.

Now then, if someone ever messes with my younging, they better hope that the cops catch them before I due. I know plenty of hog farmers and them hogs will eat what ever you throw at them.

I will also say that I believe that almost everyone that I know has either been parking, or flashed, or done the flashing. And I know for a fact that at least everyone that I know has took a leak on the side of the road male or female.

And who knows a 14 year old boy that has just been flashed at a party that is offended. If you know of one reach out and slap him then take his temperature cause he is deathly ill. Also I believe it would be his parents fault that he was at the party.

Buckshot the point is they are still registered. The taking a leak happened to me on my way to english days in Mi. The cop stopped and told me that this was a sex offense and if charged I would have to register. Which means I would not have been able to cross the border to come back home. Could you imagine that phone call back to the wife. I think that a lot of the laws today are a bit over bearing. Under the law or in the eyes of the public, a sex offender is a sex offender.

Oh, I agree with you the system is majorly flawed.

It's like those teens in High School who are sexting and get caught and must register as a sex offender for the rest of their lives----- it's that stigma of sex offender = child molester when not all are.

I remember years ago a sex offender was moving into a neighborhood and they neighbors were in an uproar about it.

UNTIL they discovered the victim was also his wife as her parents had filed charges when he was 17 years old.

I was just saying that in Alabama, you can view their charges.

The boy's dad needs to build a taller fence, then slap him if you ask me. By golly that is what is wrong with the world. That boy probabbly caught a glimpse while he had his video game on pause, or was facebooking. When I was that age I'd either be over there hoping my parents thought I was sleeping, or at least wishing I was, and if I ever have a boy he better feel the same way about it.

All them parents did in my mind is turned that boy from coondogs, grils, and trucks to a poodle, the other neighbors boy, and a hot pink smart car.

Yes there are some who coon hunt and unless you know who your child draws out with at a hunt then you have no clue! There is atleast one that I know of on this board regularly! However it is not the UKC's responsibility to do checks it is up to y0u the parent.

Who would the lawyers go after ? If a UKC MOH that was a child molester and molested a child at a UKC event. The PA would hammer the MOH and then the family lawyers would go after their million.

I would have to believe it would be UKC's liability if they give a license to a MOH and knowing children will be attending events. I know there would be some attourneys twist the knot so tight that UKC may choke.
