Miami River Big D or Beller's Deamon

What kind of pups is he throwing?

Can someone post his full pedigree...

Posted by on 09-01-2009 10:36 PM:

Fred Ricketts was his breeder. He is off White Lick Big and Ricketts Sassy Sage. Nailor top, Jr. bottom.

Double D

I have a pup out of Big D and now since I have Double D, I will always have a pup out of him! Double D is an automatic first strike, get through the country, and very good about having coons! I really can't say enough about him! Independent, he tells his own story!
He is 70 pounds, big bawl mouth, moves a track very fast, huge locate, steady ringing chop on the tree.
Around the house he is kennel quiet, very gentle with other dogs and kids. At only 13 months old.....its almost to good to be true!
I recommend breeding or getting a pup out of Big D!!

are you saying that it is a good thing to have an automatic first strike dog?????

Posted by TJH on 09-02-2009 07:36 PM:

No its not a good thing but there hard to beat my friend. I hate drawing them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Posted by hat creek mac on 09-02-2009 07:46 PM:

Just because one is hard to beat is not a reason to hunt one. That is like saying, "I love for my dog to run through the woods barking at absolutely nothing. I know he is a freaking idiot, but I love him because he can win a hunt occasionally."

Kind of makes you think huh????

You can win with a dishonest dog. We all know that. It is a whole lot more fun to win with an honest one though.

I suppose I may have to take offense to your little two sense of misdirection there hat creek mac! First and foremost I am speaking for my dog, Double D! When he barks, he barks for a reason; he is a trailing type dog that is extremely quick and fast at what he does! He trees coons and loves doing it, is that the only thing that he smells in the woods? Honestly, I'm sure that he smells a lot of scents that are not left by a raccoon; however, when he is treed you are going to see what he was barking at in the end.
hat creek mac.......next time you draw out with a dog that "barks a lot" at what you think is a "false barking idiot," REALLY listen to them, they tell the world what other critters ran across the track of the coon scent that they are trailing!! :-)

you said AUTOMATIC first strike dog

so now he is just barking on all god's little creatures that roam the forest at night???

I'm glad he believes in giving all the critters equal opportunity and doesn't show partiality to just one

I have drawn most all of the famous ones
including Big D
I will have to listen closer next time as they are telling the story of all the critters they run across

What ever happened to a STRAIGHT HONEST COONDOG?

I hunted with TreeMeDeep's dog abck in the middle of june. He was fairly young then but looked real nice. Showed us some coon. Id like to get my hands on a Big D pup. Its hard to do round these parts tho.

Big D's Momma "SAGE" was an indoor pet, never prooved herself in the woods, so don't let yourself think that just because a female cannot run and tree a coon she cannot reproduce!!

to me an automatic first strik dog is a dog that is barking as soon as you unsnap it no matter wether there is a coon track there or not

now if you said honest 1st strike dog i would think the dog is quite till it smells a coon

Posted by TreeMeDeep on 09-02-2009 10:03 PM:

hat creek mac......I think we are getting away from the original post about a man that was inquiring about the pups that Big D is throwing! I wish you the best and hope maybe we can get together and hunt sometime! Not a challenge, just a polite invite! Have a great day and safe hunting!

walkermannc....you are completely right! I live were the coon are thick, so I should have stated that! I haven't taken him where the coon are thin to see exactly what he would do in those conditions! Just talking about one pup out of Big D that has a bright future ahead, that"s all that I can speak for!
Great day to all!

not a problem
I just originally thought it was odd that a man would boast about having an automatic strike dog

an honest first strike dog is another animal all together

good luck with your pup--I hope he makes a great one

Posted by Jordan Westrick on 09-03-2009 12:32 AM:

I first hunted with Big D when he was a year old, I liked him then, and I like what I have seen from his pups

Posted by evan ashley on 09-03-2009 02:12 AM:

with all do respect an automatic strike isn't a bad thing. i love it. thats the only we breed to D to put that mouth in the pups. he is a coon treer and a big hunting dog that is an auto strike dog. lets see your dog beat him. i hope these pups strike out of the box as soon as you pull them out just to piss people off. lol

hey lets let all of these people who think they have a definition of babbling hound , think they are correct the next time they hunt against you and they tell you your dog who is a automatic strike dog is babbling you look at him and say well im gonna put him in the box and the rest of you handlers should do the same what the heck do we need dogs for this guy can put his nose the the ground and smell better than the dogs. he knows that are dogs are babbling and he knows there is not a coon there thats exactltly what you tell the idiots

Amazes me that anyone would defend a dog that just runs his mouth let alone breed for the trait. And these are the same guys that say there is no difference between a comp. dog and a COONDOG. (news flash) A COONDOG should open when he smells coon and only when he smells coon period.

Basically an automatic strike dog is a liar and when you say strike my dog knowing he aint opening on a coon you are a liar too. Why would a man sell his integrity for a plastic trophy and a win slip that you couldnt trade for a cup of coffee. The worst part is you devalue the title that you are trying so hard to get.
