What would you prefer to draw in a cast??

Okay lets say you draw out with 4 dogs at the Oaks (example)

You could choose a cast of four redbones OR

Four plotts OR

Four English OR

Four walkers OR

Four black ant tans OR

Four bluetics

Which would you choose and why ?? Keep in mind you know nothing about any dog.

I would bet that every comp hunter that has been out there for any length of time has been beat by every breed except maybe the Leps and Plotts and there are so few of them that they barely count. I doubt most of the serious competitors give a hoot what breed they draw.

JiM ive been hunting all over and me personally i feel excited or nervous depending on which breeds i draw. And anyone that's been in many hunts should feel that way too.

...yep on every breed.................. but I've been beat by some fine Plotts, too!!!.....lolol............question was out of the choices given..............being that I haven't lost to a red dog since the 80's.....I went with that.............

Well from what i have seen I would just as soon draw three walkers. they are the ones i like beating the most however it seems like the wins have been slow in coming latley.

My least favorite dog to draw would be a Redbone or an English dog for the reason their isnt many in our County and if one has been entered in a night hunt you bet your As- they are a good one and will be the one to beat!!!

It don't realy make a difference. As long as you have a good time and meet new people. It is not always what you win. It is the memories that it creates. But, I do see Coondawg's point!!!!!!

Any of them except walkers. Sooo hard to win a hunt when you spend an hour shining slick trees. Funny part is im hunting a walker.

I always like to draw nice dogs and watch them work. My gyp stands a lot better chance wining the cast in a cast full of good dogs. They will go their way and do its thing and at the same time let her go do hers.

I've always had better luck winning when I'm hunting against
3 Walkers for some reason. I've always had a tougher time
winning in a cast with 3 other Blueticks.

3 good handlers who know the rules and are sportsman who are respectful of each other first and foremost. Get the bull crap out of the hunt and it is much more enjoyable. I would say Black dogs though because of my personal preferance.
