Smokey is out of Slife's Rambo. His mother is out of Casey's Hammer II and Johnson's Annie Mae. If you look at Phydeaux's pedigree, they are 7/8 brothers being out of the same male and 3/4 sisters. He is a littermate to the Knothead dog that placed 4th at the PKC world hunt in 97. He is the last of the Rambo males that I know of. He is a COONDOG in every sense of the word. He is only hunted in the hunts occasionally and has done pretty good this year for no more than he has been hauled. They took Smokey back out at the Shriner's hunt this year and he treed 3 coons to the others' zero. It seems like the good ones sure get old quick.

Smokey is a reproducer. He hasn't been bred a lot. Some of the local boys have used him some the last couple of years. The only advertised dog out of him was Roanoke Ridge Racket. I think he was out of Smokey and Larry Whatley's Sue. From what I hear, the Racket dog was a real reproducer. He is dead now. He will put the go in one. It amazes some people how fast that old dog can be through the country for a 10 year old dog. He has probably been one of the most overlooked stud dogs that I know of. If one doesn't get advertised, they are often forgotten.

Tis a common, but sad truth

just makes you wonder how many top studs have missed there chance to show their abilitys in the breeding pen.
So hows Bit doing?
