Has Anyone Ever Seen This

I have some pups that I took their mother away from them, she is beeing hunted and is not here at the house, but I have a 14 month old female that I am hunting, that I have noticed that her nipples were getting bigger and was hoping she wasnt bred, well I figured out this afternoon that she is laying down in the pen with them and letting them nurse, I have her seperated from them now, but I have never seen or heard of this before,

YES !!

We have a pitbull female, almost 9yrs. old that is our house dog. After every heat cycle, she would swell up and actually produce milk. During this time she would nurse ANYTHING that would suckle. She even helped us raise an orphaned kitten. We had her spayed about 2 years ago to stop her body from doing this to her. She would stay an emotional wreck if we did not let her play mommy to any pups that may be here durng that time. She would even gather stuffed animals and lay with them...It was the craziest thing ever !

A few yrs ago

a freind of mine had a cockerspaniel that had pups and she took some orphan kittens and let them nurse. She went out to the barn where the cat had them hid and brought them back to the garage and put them with her pups. The cat got run over on the road. I guess the dog heard the kittens crying and felt sorry for them.

Looks like all its hair fell out.

WE HAD A REDBONE FEMALE HAVE PUPS THEN GET KILLED ON THE ROAD THEN OUR OLDER FEMALE STARTED GIVING OFF MILK AND RAISED THE PUPS NO HEAT CYCLE OR ANYTHING WEIRDEST THING IVE SEEN TO DATE. I GUESSS MOTHERLY INSTINCT KICKED IN OR SOMTHING.
