Lost cellphone

I lost my cell in the middle of a cornfield tonight. I spent nearly 2 hours using another phone and repeatedly calling my phone as well as back tracking with my Garmin looking for it with no luck. It is not easy watching the Garmin, dialing a cell and looking at the ground while going across a cornfield. Not a nice field either, whoever planted it must have done some figure 8s in the there. Lots of end rows interecting 3-4 directions.
Not to mention the cell reception was horrible even though it was on top of a hill.

I know some cell phones have GPS technology for emergency purposes, does anyone know if I contacted my provider do you think they could possibly provide coordinates to my phone?

I'm gonna be lost without that phone. Of course, we just switched providers and bought new phones within the last month. I don't exactly want to buy another one.

I shoulda stayed home.

Good luck, Marc. I lost one awhile back. I found it after 27 calls..... It wasn't far from the truck where I bent over to unleash a dog.......the last place that I looked (or shall I say....called.)

Even better, woke up this morning and it is raining.

What I'm worried about is last night when trying to call my phone I noticed with my work cell that there were pockets with no reception in that field. I just hope my phone isn't laying there not ringing because of reception.

Verizon network is a bunch of bs.

dropped cell

I lost mine in a canal last year. I went to every place I knew
I had it with no luck.
I called my wife while walking down a road going to the last tree we made so I knew where I had it last.
The next day I found it in the canal. It had been underwater for
19 hours. Luckily the canal was down and I could see where my boots had sunk in the bottom.
I stepped in my tracks and as I got to the other side, I saw my phone underwater.

It went straight to Vmail when I tried calling it, so I thought it may have been in the canal.
It dried out overnight and after a charge it was good to go.

Good luck in finding your phone,
MLB

I had the same thing happen last fall, lost it way back in the hills. I had to go home and get my sons phone and go back. Like he told me, if it doesn't go directly to your voice mail it should be ringing. I went back and at the very top of the hill I just about lost reception with his, but I could hear mine ringing down in the valley. After about an hour of digging around I finally found it. Does your go directly to voice mail ??

As of 10am mine is still ringing. I was able to access my voicemail and change my message with a temporary number to reach me at. It is important I get this found or get a new phone as I just put our house up for sale and outside realtors need to contact me to show our home.

There is also the possibility that it may be on silent if by chance it got bumped. I just got the phone and still haven't figured all the bells & whistles.
I still have my old phone with most my numbers so not all is lost.

I'm going out tonight to look. I have in narrowed down to a 500 yard stretch and the Garmin can get me within a couple rows of where I traveled last night.

Anyone looking for a challenge feel free join me this evening!

My daughter lost hers in some pretty thick woods. We looked for HOURS!! She had it on vibrate soooooooo I guess the coons are using it to warn others when the dogs are comin. It's been a couple of years now

I dint loose my cell phone, but last night was a weird night, I left from my inlaws house and on the way home I was seeing a lot of animals, so I went home got my dogs, and went out. made a drop behind a small lake about half a mile from any house, and sure enough my dog ran all the way back to the first house because there female dog was in heat. well got them loaded and went out again. dint get nothing.

I lost one in the river bottum 2 yrs ago. Never did find that one. The one after that I droped in the dog pen. Found it 3 days latter in the dog house. Iguess they had been trying to answer it because it had teeth marks all over it & the antenna was chewed off. It still worked tho! Ran one thru a dish washer, droped one inside a 12' high block wall, shut one in my van door, thats all I can remember but there were more! I always buy insurance on them.

No phones but somewhere in the woods right behind my house is a nice almost new tri tronics transmitter.

After 2 hours of crawling on our hands and knees through a muddy cornfield, WE FOUND IT!

I found it about 15 rows in from the edge, about 30 yds from the tree! We crawled almost the entire way with me backtracking with the Garmin and my Dad tracking me the old fashioned way. We lost hope after making it to the tree, found it on our way back out.

I've got a pretty darn good ol' man to get off work and want to crawl around the corn field with me. It was hot and humid, rained on us a little too.

I can't believe we found it. Its on the charger now, hopefully not damaged from the rain.

Thanks y'all!

LOL!

GREAT NEWS! Was wondering if you'd find it and hoping so. I've been real lucky not to lose mine cause I"m a clutz... I tend to walk into EVERYTHING...just around our tiny little farm. PROBLEM with ours is... Bob and I both have the phones set to ring with our own dogs baying, howling and growling..as it is I NEVER notice the phone ringing but look at the dawgs... OR... if I'm in a little chicken coop kneeling under a ledge or something... and my phone growls it scares me nearly to death...LOL.. Bob always wonders why I'm crabby when he calls and I'm doing chicken chores....LOL...

Was sending finding thoughts and prayers your way... My dad used to call me Eagle Eyes cause I ALWAYS found lost things... still do actually... (unless I LOST it...)... My mother still calls me about 3x a week to give her hints(from an hour away) on where to find things....LOL... Anyway I would have LOVED to have volunteered to help search...but the drive was JUST a BIT too far!

Just a little tip, if your phone ever gets wet, like underwater. Turn off ASAP, stick it in the freezer overnight or 12 hours or so. It will freeze dry and should work as good as new.
