Please Pray For My Friend!!!!!

Please pray for my friend Devin Smith. Devin is 19, we graduated from MANTACHIE HIGH SCHOOL together. Devin and I have played on the same baseball team since we were in little league and played highschool football together. We spent our junior high years fishing in the day and playing baseball at night then in highschool we coonhunted some together and couldnt wait for friday night to come to play football. We have been friends since we were just little kids and our families have spent a lot of time at the ball parks together through the years

This morning I got a call form a good friend of mine and he told me that Last night Devin had a very bad four wheller accident and had to be air lifted to the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Devin is in the ICU, he has swelling/bleeding on his brain, a cracked skull, and a very bad bruise on the front and back of his brain. He is in a medical indused coma at this time and the doctors are not real for shure just how bad of a condition he is in yet.

Please pray for Devin Smith and his family.

ALL YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE APPRECIATED

Devin is still in ICU the doctors are talking about either drilling holes in his skull or removing a piece of his skull to relieve the pressure on his brain. . . He has a long way to go. . .

I just got back from the hospitol, Devin a pretty night and the doctors didnt have to drill or take a piece of his skull out because the pressure went down on its own. Earlier they did have to give him some medicine because the pressure started to go up a little but it went right back down. Its going to a lond recovery so keep him in your prayers.

This is just a reminder of how fast a good time can go so wrong.

Prayers go up for Devin to have a full recovery from his injuries.

I just got back from the hospitol today, The doctors gave Devin the best report that he has got. All of his levels are where they should be and the dr has taken his IVs out to wean him back off of the medicines and they are starting to try and let his body do some of its own work. BUT they said with a head injury like that they cant determine if any lasting damage will be there untill he wakes up. KEEP PRAYING

Glad to hear MORE good news! Hope to hear more... as a mildly brain injured person... I always pray hard for others, especially those who were more seriously injured than I was.... Some people can recover REALLY well even from serious brain injury so Bob and I will be hoping that is the case with Devin.

Don't blame me - I voted for McCain/Palin!

This morning I got the call ive been dreading, Devin took a turn for the worst yesterday and he passed away around 1:00 this morning. All of his friends and family are taken it real hard so please pray for all of the ones who are hurting for his loss.

I am so sorry about the loss of your friend. This is so terribly sad. I hate to hear about the loss of our youth. Youth that are just trying to live...How sad...

Thanks guys i went to his house to see his parents earlier, the funeral will be sunday and they asked me to be a pall bearer, I believe carrying his casket and putting him in the ground will be one of the hardest things Ive ever had to do.
