Memory Card Help! Help!!!

I TOOK PICS AT OUR BENCH SHOW AND NITE HUNT LAST SATURDAY NIGHT. AT 3AM WHEN THE WINNERS WERE ANNOUNCED, I ALSO TOOK PICS OF THEM.

I WENT BACK LOOKED AT PICS TO MAKE SURE THEY WERE GOOD, EVERYTHING WAS FINE.

MY CAMERA HAS BEEN AT HOME SINCE THEN.

I DECIDED TO DOWLOAD MY PICS FROM THE HUNT, AND AS SOON AS I TURNED MY CAMERA ON IT TOLD ME MY MEMORY CARD NEEDED TO BE FORMATTED BEFORE IT COULD BE USED.

I CLICKED CONTINUE AND IT TELLS ME IN ORDER TO FORMAT IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY DELETE EVERYTHING ON MY CARD.

WHAT CAN I DO? I'VE GOT VIDEOS OF CHEYENNE FISHING ON THERE, AND TONS OF PICS I DONT WANT TO LOOSE!

I PUT IT IN MY LAPTOP AND IT TOLD ME THE SAME THING!

I REALLY DONT WANT TO LOOSE MY FILES!

I HAVENT FOMATTED IT YET, SO THE PICS N VIDEOS ARE STILL ON THERE.

My mother in law had this happen and her card got corupted somehow.....

she lost it all...do not know of an answer just thought I would tell you that.

some cards may have a little slider that can get moved out of position. check to see if you anything like that.

Go to wal mart or a drug store..See if it will work there and have it all put on a CD...

Our comp crashed about a month ago and we lost all our pics. Then a friend of my wifes told her to give her the memory card and she would get the pics off of it. My wife told her that after putting them on the comp she always deleted them off the card. She said the pics would not be completely gone from the card. She took the card and with some kind of software she owned pulled ALL of our old pics off of it even though they had been deleted. It was around 2000 pics and she put them all on CDs for us. I don't know what the software was called, but if you haven't gotten it fixed by the time you see this, pm me and I'll see if I can talk to her and get any info for you.

PlottChaser, here is a sloution for not losing everything when a computer crashes.......Best part $54.95 a year for peace of mind in case you lose everything -- you can retrieve it all back. You can restore everything back on a fixed or new computer...........or when you accidentally delete something, you can go and retrieve it.

I've had that happen to me 2 or 3 times, just every once and a while I have it happen. Always lost all the pics, thats why now I don't leave a bunch on the camera without putting them on the computer just in case. The less I lose compltly the better.
