light question

have a coon buster light. has a 5 position switch on high it burns fine all the time. the others it will burn for a few seconds then it's like it kicks off you can turn it back to high than back down and the same thing over again. changed switches and it's the same thing. don't know if the bulb could cause this or what?

most of the lights i have used will only burn on the high side in 1- 2 postions.

fusable link installed as protection for over amperage.
usually installed in the high side circutry/ usually will stay on in the high and high position or all low positions. if you are in the hi ghside and in any position other tha high it will cycle off.

Is your light shutting off with the bulb on the high side?If so that is normal. The high side will only work with the switch turned up to 5.

light question

WOW !!!! You mean I threw 2 lights in the trash because they were working fine ???
I had a Compitition Light that did that , only worked when it was crannked up wide open , I thought it was jusk ,so I trashed it. It worked fine when it was on the first click on the high side ,but when I would turn it up past that ,it would go off .

WHOOPS !!!!

some lights have a peppy-c in the circuit --we the light pulls too many amps the peepy-c will open up and will close when it cools down --I hope this put some light on your problem
