My Stud Dog Curse Continues

This is the sixth time its happened.I've spent alot of money to advertise a stud dog and just as things start going good something bad happens. At least this time he's still alive. But after a serious bout of lyme disease, that took forever to diagnose cause we ain't got it here and I had him vaccinated before he went to Wisconsin.Rock was officially diagnosed as sterile this week.I took two females of mine in to find out how many pups we might have and both were empty so we checked him and it was him.You think I would have learned by now but its still a fun ride.My uncle mick taught me a quote along time ago that I like to use when talking about my luck with advertised stud dogs,"Its a good life if ya don't weaken'." So I got on the horn and I made a deal to get one of his good young sons bought back.

Your not the only one with bad luck! Had a top female that I
stuck a lot of money into hunting and campaining and couldn't
get pupsout of. Sold her at a hide dog price and she soon had
15 pups and a couple weeks ago had 14 more. Also have an
awesome Chesapeake male that a couple females bred to him
and a couple more guys wanting to breed females and got him
tested and he's sterile.

That's so much more profound than most will realize. I'd like to have a beer with your uncle Mick sometime. I know you'll be right back after it again Travis. Good luck with your next one!

Travis,

I have only had one male live past 6 years old, and that male had to be retired from hunting at 5 due to an health issue.

I have just accepted the fact that I am going to stick with females.

For several years as a boss, I used the two following quotes:

"What doesn't kill ya makes ya stronger."

"Adversity builds character."

Best of luck with your young male.
