Trying to figure out....
I have box trapped over 40 coon out of one friends backyard. The hollow behind his house is probably 100-200 acres. I turn these coon out 20-30 miles from where they were trapped. I don't believe they are going back(I know that some will return if not taken far enough...) I have an interstate highway and river(good size) between most of these coon. Why does my friend continue have coon in these kind of numbers? (not that I'm complaining....I'm keeping a lot of my areas stocked!!!)

I agree with Elvis 100%.
There has to be a food source to support them.
I hunt a woods that has about 500 apartment units on one side of it.
Hunting this spot consists of pulling up to a dumpster, hitting it three or four times, watching 1 to 10 coon pile out of it and then turning a pup loose. Make a tree and move on to the next dumpster. These coon are half tame and a person can get within about 10 feet of them before they run away. It's unbelievable!!!!!!!
This little spot is just infested with coon, but as long as the apartments are there, they will continue to thrive with all of the garbage.

If I could hunt it......he wouldn't have the problem. Dogs would get smashed on both ends of the hollow......
