Young dog help
I have a 17 month old thats a heck of a coon dog but I want him to be a heck of a comp dog too. My problem is some trees he will stick for as long as it takes me to get there, 20 minutes is the longest of timed and others he will leave after 4 minutes when he has the coon. When he is treed hes a pretty nice treedog but he acts like hes not sure and comes off millen around and just wonders off. I have caught him in the act and switched him back to the tree now when he comes off the tree and he sees me comin after him he gets back 2 the tree as fast as he can. He has never left his tree to go to other dogs he dont care if their 10 feet away or 100 yards he will handle all the pressure you put on him but he pulls his self off lol. I think I can do alot of winnin with him if he will hold his tree every time. Should I give him more coon, hunt him less, will it come with age any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks

try hunting with another dog when treed tie your dog back, shoot coon and dont let him even get close to the coon and he will eventually realize what he misses when he leaves it should not take long for him to tighten up on tree.
