scratch question
If your shining a tree and there is still a dog out on track and a handler forgets where he is at and squalls before the time is up is that a scratchable offense

no its not if its le last 3 min of the shine time. unless they changed the rule again. they made that change a cpoouple years ago that you can squall the last 3 min of shine time even if a nother dog is out working.
rule 17 gen onfo. handler cannot squal for the first 7 min of shine time unless all dogs are treed/if all dogs are not treed than handler can squal last threee min. of shine time.
i took it,,the way the question stated ,,he ment "before times up"..was referring to the first 7 minutes..

I meant before the 7 is up. But where does it say you get scratched?

Seen it happen one time. The one dog was looking awesome and made a tree before the other dogs. Mine covered and the other dog was still out running. We got there and started shining and after a few minutes the guy with first tree blew his sqauller. He didn't get more than a few seconds in when the judge yelled to stop it and then said you're scratched. The better dog got scratched that night for a handler error, that's how it goes some nights.
