Missing Plott Female from Arkansas State

I lost a 10 month old saddleback plott female on Friday night of the Arkansas State Championship. She was shown Friday during the show and won Best Female. It was her first trip anywhere and so she was a bit nervous of all the sights typical of a young dog not yet travelled.

I was walking her during the draw of dogs Friday night and she tugged on the lead and I dropped her flexi lead and when it hit the pavement, she spooked and started running...dragging the flexi lead behind her. She was gone before I knew it...although I took off running after her. We couldn't find her that night. I hoped that during the day Saturday we would have a phone call of someone finding her but so far nothing. We have driven lanes in all directions and spoken to people, but have had no word or sign of her.

I would really like to get my girl back. If you can help, please let me know.

Last seen at the corner of one of the lanes leading into the fairgrounds and Hwy 63 in Imboden, Arkansas. She was last seen wearing her pink collar and dragging a blue flexi lead behind her. She is a saddleback plott with obvious brindle markings on her neck, head, and legs. But from a distance she would look dark.

I am so sorry to hear you lost one of your dogs! Wish there was something I could do. I am always too far away to help. Hope you get her back though. I am sure she is scared to death right now and wants to see you as bad as you want to see her. We'll be praying for her safe return.

Penny,

When our Cassy was stolen at Grand America, the local newspaper was a great success in locating her! Possibly phone them with an ad or story they might help out. Worth a shot, and best of luck in locating her.

That's a tough break Penny, she's likely found a place to hid and it may be awhile before some one see's her out scouting around for food & water. If all goes well and she has a phone number on her you may get lucky in or around a weeks time. Hope you find her.

Thanks for the encouraging words and phone calls.

No, I haven't found her yet...still no word. I called 2 newspapers, The Arkansas Democrat, a large widespread newspaper and the Ozark Journal there in Imboden yesterday and have ads coming out tomorrow. I hope this stimulates some phone calls.

Good luck finding your dog, Penny. I believe someone on here lost a dog at Walker Days as well and it took a few weeks but they finally got him back. So don't give up!

Laura,
It was almost dark when it happened and the only ones around were hunters gathered around clubhouse getting drawn out, so there was no one around me when this happened and when she ran she ran away from the fairgrounds. We were parked away from everything kind of and I was walking her before having to put her in the dogbox and going hunting. It was just a freak thing I could not have predicted. I haven't had like this happen before.

Thanks Scarlett for the encouraging words. I really hope I get her back.

Thanks Mike, I was waiting for Jody to get drawn to his cast and we were going out hunting as if you didn't know. :-) Turns out we had to drive hour and half, but he won his cast Friday night. We looked as much as we could before we left....the cast was fairly supportive, but eventually we did have to leave. Then, we drove around looking again when we got back.

I drove all around the area yesterday afternoon but didn't see your dog. I'll be back in that area this weekend and will continue to look for her.

Please tell Jody I feel so bad about Saturday night. I was the 1st judge on his cast. I wanted to continue in the cast, but didn't think I could continue. I feel like if I could have continued we would have treed more coon. Loyd McIntire.

UPDATE:

SHE'S BEEN FOUND!!!!!

Earlier today, Thursday, June 4th...she was found by Steve Mitchell, a gentleman who lived on the corner of Hwy 63 where she was last spotted. Apparently, she was over in the woods a little ways tangled up with lead still attached.

She's thin, but OK. Praise the Lord!!!!! I'm so happy!!!

Special thanks to Lee Don Hamilton for going and picking her up for me.

I can't thank the Arkansas folks enough for all their support and help. I appreciate all the phone calls, drives made on my behalf and offers to do whatever. It speaks well of the integrity of the hunters in that area. You guys are the BEST!!!!!

Thank goodness. Glad to see she is back home, I know it takes a toll on the owner when a dog is missing. Thank goodness there are so many coonhound friends out there to help.
