25 dollar hunts ? Non hunting judges

stirring the pot, would making the hunt entry's twenty five dollars and hiring a non hunting judge per cast solve the problem , i would have to say it would if you could pay a guy twenty five bucks to ride along in a cast and judge it that knows the rules and has no incentive on who wins, this would be beneficial to the handlers of the cast, and would lessen the complaints to ukc about the casts, i personally would love to judge casts when im not hunting a hound. and this atmosphere would prepare handlers and hounds better for the world finals.

....I'd like to see it at least at the RQE and Zone level.........local small hunts, might hurt already low entry numbers..........jmo.......

The problem still remains, "who will these judges be?" $25 is not incentive for me to leave my dog at home, but still travel, still hunt, and have to judge a cast.

I remember the days when there were nonhunting judges on champion casts and RQE's and the change to hunting judges was a HUGE, overall improvement.

there are multiple hunters at club houses that have the potential to judge a cast , most go and eat a tenderloin and just go home, these guys know the rules and would be more than willing to help out , if there was some type of incentive,

Danny, your about as wrong as wrong can get on this one.
You cant beg these guys into even just guiding a cast.
And they certainly dont know the rules.

haha i guess thats why they show up and eat tenderloins and leave, lol, still i think there could be some type of program that gives incentives to judge and know the rules. Elvis do you like the card in your hands when your trying to win a hunt? or do like to be able to hear your dog and win the cast, knowing that you have a judge that is fair and honest and know the rules.

I think 3 dog casts with hunting judges would be the best solution.

I've been on just about as many 3 dog casts as 4 and ALL AROUND the 3 dog cast hunts have went much more smoothly!

Your experiences with nonhunting judges must be different from mine if you think this will help. I would much rather have a cast vote.
