All of the lemon colored walkers I have ever seen were more proned to running ( deer, fox, etc ). I had a lemon colored walker that I used to run deer with, and got some pics somewhere if I can find them.

Years and Years ago you would see a lemon colored walker ever so often. I thought they looked like they had some bird dog in them somewhere.

The lemon colored hounds came from Goodman Foxhound strain many years ago..My dad had a pack of them when I was a kid..I've been away from foxhounds for many years and I don't know whether they still exist...

Lemon and white colored hounds are just as much Walker blooded as the tri- colors. The Walker family that started the Walker foxhound strain, used EVERY color of hound in their program. I can breed certain tri-color foxhounds and still get a couple lemon and whites. Some foxhound breeders only breed lemon and white.
The Goodman strain did not start the lemon and white. The Goodman strain is also just a strain of the Walker boys breeding program.
Monroes Finley River Joe, I used to see alot of gray and white dogs come from him and his offspring. If you take and linebreed back on the right finley river stuff, you will most definitly pop up some lemon and whites. I would imagine the other strains of Treeing Walkers would do the same, if linebred to the right dog.
Mr. Hester, I am inclined to agree with you. I have considered doing it and single register any keepers.

If I had an overpowering walker stud dog I'd take some these fox hounds and cross on them. I believe this 'cold blood' crossed on a proven stud would make some stem winders. As of now there's not two walkers in the breed that are not related bringing in the 'cold blood' a non related female would make for great cross in my opinion.

I have one she is a little more red than yellow , she had 2 littermates that were yellow.

lemon color
There's a guy on the big game board that has a bunch of them. He goes by idbowdude.
I know a guy here in PA that has a very nice coyote/fox pack that are lemon and white with pink noses. Most of his dogs have very little lemon on them and are mostlt white. He calls them Walkers but like I said they are only used for fox and coyote. They are all tall lanky dogs. He never shoots the coyotes the dogs catch them.

I guess this is what you would call a lemon tricolor. She is a COONDOG. Can run a track as quick as any I've seen and is mother to several coondogs - Bionic Hook, Bionic Bonnie, Bionic Bill Jr, to name some!

Its a throwback to the days when English, Blueticks, and Walkers were all the same breed (pre-late 1940's)
You still see it quite abit in English dogs, Blue Boy II (junior) threw them by the truckloads. Just about every yeller and white English dog you'll see has Jr somewhere back there pretty close.

Heres a pic of our lemon headed walker dog. This picture doesnt show it real good but she has a real light lemon head and her color on her body is pretty light. Comes from a pedigree full of black headed, good colored walker dogs. One of the most accurate dogs i've been in the woods with.

The Goodman foxhound strain was NOT a part of the walker breed or the breeding program of the walker brothers. They were of the maupin strain of foxhound which were then crossed with the the maryland(july) strain of foxhound.
Sounds like your describing the results of my first litter about 20 yrs. ago... All black and white just like mom and dad except one pure yellow and white, no black at all. Guess which one was the natural!!
Here's a picture of the litter ( and my nephew) and another picture of Yeller at about 4 months old right before I stupidly gave him away!
