Let's buy billboards to tell about HSUS/PETA

I received this email & it sounds VERY POSSIBLE
How about if we start a Billboard site on here, with volunteers (people we know are really "one of us") in each city to collect the funds/donations & start buying billboards.
We'd need to obtain local rates for proposed cities. But obviously these need to be displayed in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Chicago, New York, Seattle, Portland, Ore., Boston, etc. ALL THE BIG CITIES - those are the people donating to the AR groups.

Kathy Grayson ( a Southern California handler) contacted one of the
outdoor advertising billboard companies and got prices for advertising
in the Hollywood, Los Angeles area. She found out that $6000 buys 100
billboards. That is only $60 per billboard.
She has started collecting
checks...and will cash them
and buy 100 billboards when her goal of
100 is reached, a worthwhile goal.

The billboards will say "Protect your right to own a pet" followed
by an international NO sign covering HSUS / PETA. At the bottom the billboard will have a web site for further information so people will realize that giving money to HSUS and PETA is destroying pet ownership in America; in addition the PETA mission statement will be on that sight.

Just wondering. 6000 buys 100 billboards or is that rent. If so, for how long?

That would have to be rent. Plus they will charge for design and install that is a cost per board. But regardless I like the idea.

3-Day Minimum
3 - 5 days = $350 per day
6-11 days = $310 per day
12-15 days = $290 per day
16-19 days = $270 per day
20+ days = $235 per day

Non Profit Rates
4 day minimum = $225 per day

YOU ARE CORRECT!

I believe we would just need ONE billboard in ONE MAJOR CITY. I asked about the DALLAS area rate because I'm in Texas & KNOW that area has been hit hard with AR legislation - it's also where H$U$ holds their "ACO" training seminars.
All we need now is for a not-for-profit (501-C club) to offer use of their name for this project. Obviously our coonhound clubs are not-for-profit, but to make this acceptable for the lower rate, the 501-C would probably be required by the billboard company.
