How can I make a feeder using a tire ? What do I need to do ? Do I lay it on the ground, put it up on some thing, hang it ? Please Help me with this one. thanks

Get a tire ON A WHEEL.

Then cut 3 or 4 holes about 1-1/2" in diameter in the side wall of the tire.

Take it to the woods.

Lay it on the ground hole side up, and try to level it best you can.

Fill it with shell corn. (For added smell put a cup or two of milo seed mixed in with the corn)

Pour water in the tire until it runs out of the holes, completely covering the corn.

Give the corn a day or two to sour.

When it starts to stink the coon will move in.

If it is real dry you might have to come back and add another bucket of water to the mix in a week or so.

I just use a regular air hose at a gas station. I feed my tires a few pounds of air per month. Sometimes they dont need to eat any air for several months. I would say just use a regular air hose and you'll be fine.

YOU CAN ALSO USE JUST A TIRE TIE A ROPE TO IT THROW OVER LOW HANGING FORK IN TREE FILL WITH WATER AND CORN THEN PULL UP IN TREE . BUT I LIKE THE ONE WITH A RIM BETTER IT DONT GET DOGS TREEING ON THE FEEDER TREE BECAUSE OF SO MUCH SCENT. YOU CAN USE GRAPE KOOLAIDE OR GRAPE POP OVER CORN AND THEY WORK IT LIKE CRAZY

Larry Ross is right I have found that a young dog will stay and tree the feeder tree. I have a 1 ton wheel with the tire on it I put corn in side the wheel part. Lay the wheel on its side and pour corn throu the wheel and on the ground. I dont put water on this type feeder.

dont forget the funnel if you are by yourself.

We have seven of these tire feeders out and I never have to put water in them. It seems the coons will find them really quick. Right now coons in our area are pretty thin or not moving much. It just helps by giving them something to eat and makes working some young dogs easy. Its also helps these sows that will be having little ones soon and it may keep some of the little ones around and alive.
