maggards stylish tuffman

Just trying to find out a little about him. If you have hunted with him what did you think?

I am curious too about this dog. I just bought a 3yo walker that was sired by him, looking for any info. Great looking dog hopefully he hunts like he looks

A buddy of mine has a female off him we hunt regular with one another and i hate to see him get her out of the truck sorriest track dog I've ever seen you couldn't runn fast enough to give her to me but i felt the same way about her dam wich is where a lot of her traits come from I'm sure

I know theres going to be great good and bad out of every litter. they all cant be allstars. we took jack (my 3yo from tuff man) out today running yotes and he is a very loud bawl mouthed hound. his previous owner guarenteed him on coon and bear so only time will tell, but not disapointed so far

Posted by walkerdog1 on 03-03-2013 04:07 AM:

My buddys female has the best mouth of any dog I've ever been in the woods with and she is a hard tree dog some what independent she has good points just more bad than good with her and she's the only dog off him I've ever been out with id like to go with one off a good female

tuffman

i have 1 out of him that i have had since 6 weeks old. he is the most natural dog i have ever owned. split treed at 6 mo. old and been doin it ever since. he is a big dog with a big mouth with a wonderful locate that will send chills up your back. can flat out smoke a track( night before last he caught one on the ground) when he trees dont matter if your dog is 10 yards from him or 100 yards he wont budge. never heard a growl from him. he is 3 yr. old a nt. ch. with two 1st place and a 2nd place.won 1st place in rqe last night 25 degrees and snow. i cant speak for others but i sure do like mine. therefore i would recommend to breed to old tuff.you got to realize the female plays a big role. thanks!!!

Tuff = Tree Power coon dog

I have seen several nice dogs out of Very Nice dogs out of Tuff. All went hunting got treed, had big mouths and look good, all were hard tree dogs. To say a mans dog is a slick treeing idiot actually shows us all who the real idiot is. if you bought a pup out of tuff that came up slick there are a lot of variables that make dogs tree slick yes i agree it starts with genetics, but it also depends on how a dog is started, how the dog was trained, how the dog is hunted, and just how good the owner is. In most cases the owner of a slick treeing idiot is the bigger Idiot. He's the one that created it and isn't smart enough or experienced enough to fix it. If you don't know how to handle and harness tree power go by a beagle and do some donuts in you back yard !!!!

Bryan Hashman,

When did you hunt with Tuff? How many slick trees did he make?

I drew him several times while he was in Ohio, I just didn't see that out of him. Good coondog in my book?

Bad trainers!

Posted by J&C5891 on 03-05-2013 06:31 AM:

Just as Mr Johnson stated many factors come into play and believe it or not It all could have came from the female....my opinion is the female isnt given enough credit when a litter turns out or enough criticism when a litter doesnt....people always want to run down a stud dog when they see one bad pup out of a litter....females play a major factor
