Pups Treeing
Would you call a pup or young dog that is barking up at a hide or caged coon in the daylight ... or even caged coon ... a pup that is "treeing" ?
Yard dogs can do that ... a dog aint treeing til' you cut him loose alone at night and he can go strike , tree and stay under his own coon .
I tell people they will "tree on a cage coon", but that ain't what I consider treeing it's own coon LOL!!!

A pup treeing/barking at a caged coon or hide just shows it has intrest in doing what its bred to do. Does it mean it will make a coondawg? NO I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that it did. But most people want the pup that shows intrest over the ones that never bark at anything at the same age.

I would say barking up a tree is treeing. Treeing their own coon is a big difference. There are dogs that will "me to" it or bark by sight but most of us want more than that.
