Score this
In a four dog cast, hunting judge and one other cast member vote one dog treed has moved and minus him owner of that dog and remaining cast member vote dog has not moved.? is placed on card. If i'm correct call stands as minus because it takes MAJORITY of cast to overturn. Right or Wrong?
Richard,
I don't think in that situation a vote is needed. It is the judges decision just like scratching for fighting. The call can be questioned and brought to the master of hounds who usually will go with the judge unless the information given is very clear the judge made a bad call. That is how I see it anyway, could be wrong.
When scoring a tree if 2 vote to minus and 2 vote to circle it goes down as circle because there was no majority. It doesn't matter if the judge said minus there is no majority so it is circled.

Well no, mulerider is wrong. All last year when the MOH read off that yellow sheet, one of the things they stated week after week was that no question can be placed on the card and no question will be heard by the MOH unless it is first VOTED ON BY EVERY CAST MEMBER.....IN THE WOODS...AT THE TIME THE SITUATION OCCURS. A vote is always required in order to place a question on the card.
You are correct Richard, it takes a majority of the cast to override the judges decision. The call made by the judge stands on the card until a majority overrules or the MOH changes it.

so jim what your saying is a hunting judge cant minus your dog for moving without a majority cast vote. the ? wasnt about the moh hearing a ? it was about a hunting judges authority to minus a dog for moving while being treed. now from reading mule riders post i believe he is correct now im not allen.g so i could be wrong.

Yall have me confused!!!!! Which aint that hard to do A hunting judge can indeed minus a dog he thinks is moving..Then like Jim says..If a question is called on it..All cast members have to vote on it..It has to be majority to over rule or keep minus once the ? has been put on card BUT I'm telling you theirs no use to take a question like this back to the MOH..They WILL rule with the judge in a tie vote.

Jim is right.
It seems some have a problem understanding the order of thigs.
1. The situation occors,
2. The situation is then scored by the Judge, only the Judge scores the situation, NOT THE WHOLE CAST
3. If by chance, a handler disagrees with the scoring or nonscoring by the judge
4. That handler then ask for a vote, EVERY HANDLER MUST VOTE OR BE SCRATCHED. Voting is not to determine the situation or who did what, it is a vote on the scoring or non scoring by the judge, i.e. do you vote that the judge scored the situation right?
5. The judge's ruling either stands or is changed to reflect the vote of the majority of the cast. It takes the majority of the cast to overturn a judges decisson.
6. At the time of the vote, if the handler asking for the vote, is not satisfied with the vote and scoring of the situation, He, then and only then, can ask for a question to be placed on the card.
7. The question is then taken to the Master of Hounds.
As I understand it, this the way things are supposed to be done.
