Sounds like it might be a problem with his cookies. Have him try clearing out his temporary files.*
* In Internet Explorer, you can do this by going to the "tools" menu at the top of the screen and going to "internet options." From there, choose "delete files" and "delete cookies."
Cookies
I am not very computer savvy. Mike, I could be wrong but if he deletes all of his "cookies", won't that delete all of his cookies including the ones in other sites he may visit. Then he may have problems logging on other sites. Maybe he would just want to delete the cookie to this site. I have never deleted cookies but I tossed my cookies once. LOL

True, but if they're corrupted, they're corrupted. The worst that could happen is that he'll have to log in to the other sites as well...and that's why we all keep our passwords in a safe place, right...?
Dave, I bet he already signed up. It won't let you sign up with a new name and pw if you're already a member.
One of the problems I have noticed is that I can log in, type a post, and then it wants me to log in again. At this point, I've lost what I've typed, (I hear the cheers, lol). Maybe I'm getting logged off due to some sort of time duration being exceeded?
Sometimes, it won't take my post at all, but I've gotten wise to this and usually try to copy what I've typed to a safe place and keep logging in and posting, until it takes.
Thanks for the suggestions, and keep them coming. He can read the board,he just cant respond.I will keep this post going and let you all know what he is trying.

I just did some digging around. If you're having problems with staying logged in, try going to "user cp" at the top of the screen and turn the "browse with cookies" option on.
There's also a bug with certain AOL browsers that gives this sort of problem. If the first option didn't work for you, you could try using the latest versions of Internet Explorer, Netscape or download Mozilla (all 3 are free if you're patient enough to download them).
Your log in info is read from a cookie so there are many things you could be doing to cause you this problem. You could have cookies turned off in your browser; you could be deleting cookies and clearing cache often (nothing wrong with that) ; you could be running a program such as cookie crusher that deletes them; you could be logging on with a different computer or logging into your computer under a different profile; you could have your computer so locked down safe and secure that your browser is not able to read or write a cookie to your hard drive. Plus all that stuff that Mike mentioned above

He is trying all that cookie stuff you all are talking about.Still no luck.(My wife takes care of that kind of stuff at my house. The only kind of cookies I know anything about are baked in an oven.)
He has emailed the Webmaster for help.
