For you BIG HOUND Lovers.

I've never been much of a fan of a BIG hound. Never understood the reasoning in the size of some of them Blue or Black dogs. I like houndy lookin, small, fast, agile dogs that don't eat much or take up a lot of space.

But fate had it that someone found this dog by the highway, were unable to locate his owners, and gave him to me, and I have had no luck finding them either.

I know he's got papers in someone's drawer. Prolly say Sackett a lot on 'em. He's a nice dog and had a lot of work put into him by someone. He's grown on me! He's older, and will never keep up with my dogs in the bear woods, but he sure has fun.

BIG ROY - 83# and 28" tall!

Compared to the others.

I had a 92# Bluetick male that would lead the pack at 7 a.m. and still be in front 4 hours later on a tough bear.

Conditioning has more to do with it than size.

Almost as big as my bluedawg... weight wise and a bit taller.. just reverse that on our BnT... he's taller and skinnier. Yup... we like Big Dawgs here BUT... ours are strictly pets. If we were hunting in the hunts and showing in the shows we'd have them within the standards... and I'd still love the Little ones

This hound got a good home with you guys. Too bad he was lost but he was lucky to have found you....

28" tall 83 LBS, man that is a big hound, but looking at his pictures, he has very good conformation.
He is a very beautifull hound. I bet he has a mouth that will rattle the window panes.

He has great conformation. He's a little older and doesn't carry as much weight/muscle in his rear like he should. I bet in his younger days he was closer to 90-100#. But awesome feet and movement.

He is an all bawl mouth. It's a nice pretty mouth. It's loud, but he's kinda flat, no real ring to it. So it's not overpowering loud. It's loud if you stand right next to him, but I don't think it will travel well here in the mountians.

Brian, your dog is marked a lot like him. I have a female here that is marked twin to the big guy. If you don't see them standing next to each other or close by you, its hard to tell them apart. Same blaze, same saddle, same mark on the back. Only thing different is that big red patch he has on his chest. I've never seen a Walker with a patch on it's chest like him. I figured it would be easy for someone to recognise the dog.

I like mine 20-23" max.

I remeasured the big guy. Cause 28" seemed really tall. And looking at him next to my pup there isn't THAT much difference. Joker is 24 and 1/2"

So I had someone help me measure big guy and he is more like 26 1/2".

So now I can Single Reg him if he fits into standards. So now you have a job Tiny! I'll be needing an inspector.

He's still got all the dogs beat by far.

Roy 26 1/2" - 83#
Joker 24 1/2" - 60#
Aspen 23" - 57#
Bo 21" - 55#
Kelly 21" - 48#
