No this is not a purina points event. I for one wish it was but it is not. However it is a Federation event and we have alot of things that need to be addressed at the meeting so please attend!!!!!

The Federation is working hard for you and we need your support, show up get involved!!!!

Not to mention there are alot of great prizes to be given away!!!!

i wish it was like all the other states i hunted in either the handler or the owner but ga won'ts both i support the fed but i do not think that both should be members jmo when you got 4 dogs in the hunt that will cost you thats the reasone i just bring one dog

Sam hit the nail on the head there is strength in numbers the more members we have the easier it is to accomplish our goals. There are alot of things we are and need to focus our attention on extended deer season,s DOG,S being shot the right to retrive law. These are just a few. Besides growing and improving our state hunt the hall of fame hunt and supporting our youth hunts and programs. These things are accomplished with a group effort fourtuntly we have at this time strong decacated leader,s and member,s that work as a team . I fore one am proud of what has been acomplished since December a lot has been done in a short time.

Hey Brian,

From what I understand it is owner OR handler has to be a member to win awards, dog box, etc. Same for bench show - owner or handler has to be a member to win benches, jacket, overall, etc.

You have been around longer than me but that is my understanding. I will make sure to bring it up at the meeting so we can get clarification.

The owner or handler has never had to be a member before to be eligible for overall prizes, is this new?

I do not know when it was implemented but according to the president anyone can enter show/hunt but to be able to win Prizes/Awards - which are substantial this year as compared to previous years - you must be a GA Federation Member. If you or someone you know won an overall prize in the past without being a member it was an error.

Ok - I got an email and this whole thread has generated some confusion. That is partly my fault for the way I worded it. So here goes......

You have to be a Federation member to win OVERALL prizes only. The overall nite hunt winner gets a Diamond Deluxe Dog Box, Black Gold Jacket, 4ft trophy. The King, Queen get show benches and trophies and Overall BS gets a Black Gold Jacket and 4ft trophy. These are the items you must be a member to win - ONLY the overall awards.

Best Male/Female, CH M/F, GRCH M/F do not have to be members to win those awards GRNITECH, NITECH, 1st - 5th Registered do not have to be members to win those awards. ONLY OVERALL WINNERS MUST BE MEMBERS PRIOR TO SHOW/HUNT BEGINNING.

I am sorry for the confusion this caused. I did not word it clearly. I am battling pneumonia right now and just hoping to be able to even be there this weekend. In my cloudy state I was not clear and I appologize about that. We are simply following the same format that BBOA, TWBFA, etc does.
