I salute you Mr. Coonhound Puppy Trainer.

I salute you Mr. Coonhound Puppy Trainer.

I salute those of you that take a 2 pound ball of long eared fur and turn it into a bugeyed coon catching machine. Countless hours spent dragging around stuffed animals with scent on them, trapping coon just to be released and the pup watching it run away. Hot Dogs being used in a fashion that brings envey to those that think outside the box. Yes Mr. Coonhound Puppy Trainer your to be saluted. Those that fail don't be discouraged. You still have a dog that will keep the neighbors up all night and the stuffing tore out of the couch. What more could one ask for.

pup training

To me the fun is watching that pup go from learning to cross a log or creek to blowing the top out when he or she trees their first coon. Then you hunt them awhile and start training another. 3 pair of boots , 500 gallons of gas and countless hours walking them in the woods. We have an 18 month old that is started and a 4 month old to start later this spring. The 4 month old will already bark at a caged coon, tear up any toy left out by kids and steal neighbors shoes.
