anyone have a wildlife trx 3s, need info

I just bought a wildlife trx3s from a guy. He had it and never used it. He bought it used so it dont have a manual with it. Do any of yall have one and how do you like it, what kinda range how many collars will it run. Any info is appreciated cause I know absolutley nothin about tracking systems and this is the first I used. thanks

Good little unit, it will only run 3 collars of different frequencies. I have a TRX10 and love it. Now get some Marshall lighted collars to go with it and you'll be all set up.

there is no manual or I never got one with mine. Theres a on/off switch, switch for your 3 different channels(says on one side of the box which channel goes with what collar #s), theres your gain which you adjust depending on how far away the dog is and tune to tune in your collars. On the backside theres also your antenrator(sp) on/off, with it on you can get the dogs if they are close.

I got a trx3, nice unit easy to use.

I have the trxs3. I really like it. I have two wildlife collars with tree switches, 16000 hr sealed batteries.

When I first got it new I hung a collar in the yard and drove off and picked it up 10 miles down the road. Pretty straight shot though. In rough terrain I would say 4-6 miles is realistic.

Be careful the attenuator is not on. You cant track past couple hundred yards if it is. Could get frustrating in the right circumstance.

Overall best unit I have ever owned. You can carry it with you in the woods, unlike the 10 dog unit. It has to stay in the truck.

Ive had mine five years no problems.

THEY ARE PRETTY SIMPLE

thanks alot for all of your help. I gotta play with it a little more. One of my collars is dead so I gotta find somewhere to get it changed.

I still use my TRX3 and it's over twenty years old.....I have a #10 model also but prefer the #3....Less bounce-back, the best unit for me here...

I didnt know how to use mine when I first got it either. but just keep trying it in different situations to figure out the beep sequences. Once I got it figured out. It was easy. Ive gottn mine up to 8 miles in fairly flat terrain. but have had it up to 5 miles in the hills of the minnesota river valley. good luck with it.

I have had a Wildlife TRX 3 for several years now and have no complaints at all. I wish it was a little smaller but I imagine everyone does. You can still carry them without much problem though.

I dont guess I meant the 10 dog unit. What was the big blue box that you had to manually dial the frequency on? Thats the one that was hard to handle.

so you just turn the tune knob till you get the strongest signal cause with a certain collar.

I have this system and hated it till someone on here got me straight. I had a regular double A battery in the collar. It takes a lithium AA battery. After I changed out the battery in the collar, it works great now. In my handheld, I still have 8 regular AAA batteries, they work fine. You may need a lithium battery in the collar, if its that kind of collar. Its 3.6volt instead of the regular 1.8v. Hope this helps.

i have the system and i love it! i run wildlife long distance collars on my dogs. it is a very accurate system. i lused to run an old innotec system and i sold it and 5 collars and bought my wildlife system.
