What if?
Say three dogs get struck..Stationary is put on em..2 dogs keep on treeing and one cant be heard anymore..Have to tree..Get there and they are in a big ol hole on side of a steep creek bank..2 dogs handled and 1 dog in the hole. Its like a mini cave in creek bank..Cant get 3 rd dog out of hole cause its opening is so small and we are 2 miles from the truck..Cant reach dog but she can stand up in hole its so big inside it..Circle up the dogs..The dog in hole has the lead on cast...Should the judge..Which is a non hunting judge call timeout for endangerment and give the cast member 1hr to get the dog out?? Or cut em back loose with only 20 min left in the hunt telling handler he is gonna either have to cut loose or withdraw?? Dog was never handled at the hole even though was told to be..
Personally I would call time out and get the dog out (no matter how long it took, he may end up scratched for the hour but I would stay and be scratched with him I guess).
I would personally help dig, crawl, whatever it took.
If the cast didn't like it they could go back to the clubhouse and get a non hunting judge, or they could go on hunting after the hour whatever they wanted to do.
Me, I'm gettin the dog out.
It's just a hunt.
PS: That's one reason I break my dogs from treein in the ground, I been there before LOL.

But what should be done according to the rules?
That's what I was talking about. You call time out due to endangerment of the dog.
Technically the handler has 1 hour to get the dog out, otherwise he is scratched.
After that, the rest of the cast, if they so chose, can go hunting and finish the cast.
I am saying that personally it's just a hunt and I would help get the dog out.

Well that aint what happened and when your 9hrs from home in unfamilar territory and your dogs in a cave..You dont think about questioning anything..All you wanna do is get your dog. This was another kc but I'm pretty sure the rules are the same about this case.
i dont know exactly how the rule reads but i believe you call time and you have an hr to catch the dog.

I agree with Rip.Had a simalar situation a couple years back only it was a big push up pile the only dog on the outside of hole was mine the judge wanted to minus mine I guess cause he was not down in the hole luckily our time was about up and we let the last 10 minutes elapsed as I was the only one with plus points and they could not of caught me . I spent an hour and a half gettting them out got back with 10 minutes before deadline

Dog is in danger. Call timeout. End of story.
If judge says, "No the dog's not in danger, we're cutting loose!", question the call and nobody is hunting anyways. Period.
