the oddball strikes again

150 yd run up, 20# boar, 2 broken coon teeth & 2 split dog ears. after skinning the carcass looked like it had been worked over w/ a claw hammer, the claw side.

he is a linebred mix of saluki (arabian greyhound) & greyhound (both cold & hotbloods). 29 1/2" atts & 66-70# depending on condition. he's caught several coon, a deer, a grey fox, hogs and numerous feral cats on the NF.

here's his fox

and a small coon

WOW with those long legs I'll bet he can really cover some ground. Have you ever thought about running coyotes with a couple of them?

Nice Dawg!

Being a greyhound lover and former owner... (I miss my old buddies...) I LOVE to see these types of dogs doing some fun jobs like this! TopGun wanted to be a coondawg... I think I have him in my signature picture with the coonhounds on a caged coon. He was a racing grey. and had no skin...so he couldn't get close to any claws or twigs or thorns or...LOL... You did good by breeding in the HAIR and thicker skin... Looks like you have a mighty fine hunting type of dog... hope to see more pix in the future! I know that TopGun has been catching some good prey in greyhound Heaven... But i still miss the old guy. They sure do get under your skin!

HappyHunting and THANKS for sharing! Heather

Sonic was bred by nice lady down in GA. she had more pups than she wanted to bring on so she gave him to me on the condition that i hunt him (well if you're gonna twist my arm).
his sire is also his greatgrandsire on his dam's side.
two of his siblings are regularly catching deer, coon, fox & occasionally rabbit, coyote & hogs in SC. his breeder makes trips out west to run hers on jacks & coyotes, but has also taken deer, fox & coons.
i just put up the pics because i know folks here appreciate a dog doing the job even if the type of dog isn't their cup of tea.

yeah, Heather
they do have a way of growing on you.
