I have been fortunate so far and haven't had any problems. I think the reason is because I keep the updates on my virus checker, AVG and the updates on Microsoft Windows current. If you have a virus checker, you should keep it updated and Microsoft has a patch that prevents the worm from getting in your computer. It is free.

My Internet provider advises me if there are any new updates from Microsoft or any new worms found. So as soon as I saw the update, I downloaded the patch.

Folks it also would help if you have a firewall on your computer. Windows XP has its own Firewall . Go to Start, control panel, Network and Internet Connections, Network Connections, LAN or Local Area Network. On Local Area Network right click then select properties, then Advance then check the box that says Firewall. This will prevent hackers coming into your computer. Also there is other Firewall program out there like Black Ice.

Wildbill

It only attacks Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. XP users can use the built in restore feature to go to an ealier date then download the windows update from microsoft. Piece of cake LOL.

Worm

Look for more of these worms in the furture. Worms are different from a virus, in that a worm is not attached to an email. It (worms) looks for an open "hole" on a system. Like it has been said, keep your windows updated and use a firewall. Most anti-virus programs comes with a firewall, but the best firewall is a router.
