Why do coon hunters lie so much?

Why do so many coon hunters lie? Maybe it's not just coon hunters? Do we really live in a world where everybody lies?

One of my so called "coon hunting buddies" asked me to go hunting the other night. He said, "I'll be there in a half hour." He never showed up and never called. It's been a week and I still haven't heard anything from him. This has happened many many times in the past with this same individual.

Once I had a coon hunting buddy board my dog for me while I was in the process of moving to a new city. While I was gone he claimed my dog had been stolen. As it turns out: he took the nice redbone pup I had to Autumn oaks and sold him out from under me.

I was spectating at a buddy hunt once. Neither dog won the hunt in the alloted time. No trees where scored during the one hour hunt. When the cast got back to the truck they put their heads together in a huddle and decided among themselves who won the hunt on paper.

I'm just trying to figure out why so many coon hunters feel it is necessary to lie all the time. If anyone has an answer to this age old question let me know.

learn to trim the fat out of your life hang up on em n walk away from them, they dont cmon and make sure your bills are paid , they dont come n make sure youre fridge is full , they dont come in do your laundry.

kick em to the curb the first instance they start tellin ya howit'll be.

tell em ok and count on nothing and dont give em any valuables.

not all coon hunters lie i know i won't and will call some one if something comes up that i can't go hunting with them. i don't see the point in lying about hunting or a dog. but there is liars in every sport from squirrel hunting to baseball it's part of it. having to deal with these stupid people.

Mistakes I've made have cost me plenty, and folks who judge I've met aplenty. The perfect man, I ain't met any and He who says he is ain't worth a penny.

In general I think it's the American way anymore. I have seen things on tv and they showed that in average a liar wil go farther and prosper more over the long haul. I think more and more people are lying to achieve whatever they can by whatever means neccesary.....

coon hunters are some of the best people

I have found that an honest coon hunter is one of the best people to be friends with. I'm friends with a guy named Pete Bolin. He's a coon hunter. You won't find a better person. he's not a church going man or a saint by any means. But, what pete says you can take to the bank. believe it or not; i've had people in my churches treat me worse than Pete has. I believe once you find an honest coon hunter you have a friend for life.

When I started hunting 12 years ago a old timer told, you better watch some of these guys, they would lie for there coondog before ther own children!! You know he was right! and I've encountered many that way over the years. The worst part is, most of the liers and thives I've been around were fun guys to hunt with and be around.

Alot of people have lied so much that they actualy start believing their own lies. When u going hunting with their dogs you sure see the truth!!!!

aw come on yall.........coonhunters and fisherman never lie.......... they just STREEEEEEEEEEEETCH the truth a bit!!!!!!!!

ive leanrt to take what some of them say with a box of salt,,,,,,,,,,, the grain just wont cover it.............

liars

some have a bad habit, some to compensate for dog power. you'd think if they had to lie for them all the time they'd invest in dog power. there is one around here that does it to make his dogs powerful, but if you hunt with them they're still just an average dog. go figure lol
