Idaho Lightfoot

We had a good day hunting and caught two lions today. Gambler treed one solo, and Whiplash, Stinger, and Diva caught the other one.

Hunting has been kinda slow lately. I've been playing around with a couple of my new prospects. I just thought I would show them off a little with a couple pics. They are almost 4 months old. I look forward to working with them this coming year.

We finally got a little fresh snow on top of the hard crust. The dogs could run on top some, but they would break through the crust about half the time. Here's a female we caught the other day with Gambler and Whiplash.

Great job Dustin & hounds looks like the crust might have torn there feet up some but I'm sure it didn't slow them any i definitely know what its like trying to run with crap for conditions great job glad you where able to get them out good luck Larry

Lower your standards and increase your odds for success. LOL. That was the motto on this days hunt.

After a couple hours of looking for tracks on the snowmobile with no luck. I finally found a track. It wasn't quite what I was expecting to find as high up in the mountains as I was. But I figured a coon race was better than no race at all. The track was frozen in, but I decide to give it a try. I put Whiplash and Stinger out on it and they managed to get it worked up and in a tree. I've hunted this area for over 10 years and have never seen a coon track there. He was a long ways from where I would expect to see one. I think maybe he was lost. Oh well, I needed a new hide to work my puppies with anyway, so it worked out good.

Coon hunting with snowmobiles and snowshoes. Who knows maybe I'll start a new trend. But I doubt it. LOL
