SW WI coonhunting

I live and hunt SW WI. I haven't been able to get out for the last few weeks, I know right before the gun deer season (last week of Nov) it was pretty slow coonhunting. Since I haven't been able to get out, how has everyone else been doing?

we got alot of freezing rain out of the last storm...around arthur there is about 5 inches of snow..could have been worse, they were talking 13". i can put up with some snow..just would like to see the temps up a little..have you been hunting jake??

if it gets warm this weekend i'll be a little mad. I work friday and saturday night, but come sunday weather cooperating, i just might go without sleep.

DAVE I AM IN YOUR SHOES. BEEN OUT ONCE SINCE DEER SEASON AND MADE 2 DEN TREES AND HAD TO FIND THE DOGS WITH THE TRACKER BOTH TURNOUTS. COON SEEM TO BE HOLED UP AROUND HERE. THE LITTLE FEMALE OFF 3 AND SHADOW WAS TREEING WITH THE OTHER DOGS BEFORE DEER SEASON. WENT HUNTING FIRST TIME TURNED LOOSE. SHE HAS NOT OPENED ON TRACK YET, BUT TREES NICE.

she will open when them stinky boar coon start rutt'in..lol i have not had mine out but a couple times..she sure likes to throw her head in the air..i'll waite till spring to hunt her more, i have a couple 1yr olds i was trying to get singled out this season..

I see, I just moved down to Benton about a year ago and before that I have been in Viroqua my whole life. It's a little different than what im used to down here. Just as long as there are still ringtails around and people willing to let me chase them on their land i'm happy.

you should have some prime coonhunting around benton, leadmine and jenkinsville..i drew a guide from there in one of our club hunts, old III scored a 1,000 points in a 90min club hunt.. there was coon everywhere and treed pretty easy..

Yeah I'll agree there are plenty of coon here and it's a great place to train dogs. Problem with me is I haven't ever had a finished dog to run with my young dogs and also I don't know a whole lot of people. I think this summer Im going to go for a drive and just stop and shake hands with people and ask permission. Seems to be about the only way.

I did go home a few times cuz I'll never pass up the opportunity to go with my dad or go hunting with the Red Fever Redbones, but the drive kills me. It would be nice to have about about 3 or 4 farms all in the same area so I could just go do a drop and go home when I have to turn in early.

not a chance up here. to cold nt much for snow. ben trying my young dogs on cats. shes gettin there.but still neads work. but I figure coons are don till rut.

I'm pretty excited for Sunday, shows a high of 42 but showers. Wont stop me, it's my first night off in a while and i'm dying to get out!!!
