Auto Bailout Poll
Just trying to see the results out of a poll like this, they'll do as they want but just want to see what the real people think...Not the clueless people in DC...
Thanks...
Brandon
I absolutely believe that the government should not bail out any private industry.
I agree with m_blakemore

I have worked for the same G.M. Dealer for 16 Yrs. in sales.
If they bale them out and keep the U.A.W. like it is they will have it to do againin 3 mos. then in 6mos. with no problems solved.
As long as the U.A.W. is ran by ( in my opinion) greedy lawyers it will never get better. THE U.A.W. HAS GOT TO GO!

I figured we would see these type of replies, but do you think Washington will actually listen to the voice of the American people??
easy jr, iam a UAW MEMBER FOR FORTY YEARS AND PROUD TO BE ONE THE UAW IS NOT THE PROBLEM DO YOUR HOME WORK
I am not against the workers. On the average it takes $16,000 per G.M. vehicle sold to pay for U.A.W. special benifiets programs. I been doing my homework for 16 yrs. I am one of the ones that has to try to sell after the workers at the plant gets paid.

Harold and junior,
I do not think that it is the workers fault at all, I do believe that like most unions the UAW has won so many concessions from the auto makers that it makes it hard to turn a profit. But, I also think that American car dealers have been slow to react to the market demands for more fuel efficient vehicles. I personnally dont care for cars or hybrids, but it would be great if my Dodge 1500 got more than 17 miles a gallon. I am considering downsizing to a tacoma because I know gas will go back up.
MATT
That $16,000 figure is pretty hard to believe. I seen what the car manufacturers said & it was a LOT less than that.
i'm curious how many UAW workers you could pay with the top 5 wage earners from just 1 of the big 3, my guess would be more then each employs. just a guess though.

GOOD POINT DKRAUSE, those guys are grossly overpaid. But then again most CEO's seem to be
You are right It is not the workers fault , not in the least , but it is the break down from the wokkers to the top.
Money comes from the top down, when it got down to the crack it turned and started back up, then it got stuck at the top.

My biggest concern is that if they do go ahead with this bail out that they will be right back in a few months asking for more. Everything I have watched on this says that unless they receive somewhere around $130 billion that they won't be able to avoid bankruptcy..I feel very sorry for the workers, on one hand they are getting a raw deal by not getting what they were promised. On the other, they should have never received all the things that the UAW has gained for them in the first place. In my opinion, companies produce products in the hopes that the people will need or want the products they produce, if a company hits or misses the targets they set, then they fail. As millions of people and companies across the world figure out everyday. I just don't understand how everyone says that it is small businesses that keep our country growing, but the government allows them to fail on a daily basis and can't help the mom and pop operations that keep going out of business everday right now. In my opinion, they should let the Big 3 file for bankruptcy and start over again and hopefully a little wiser than they currently are. This is probably what will end up happening anyway after they waste the billions the Americans will give them before this happens. Just my opinion???
