What Is Your Opinion About This ??
I WAS READING IN OUR MORNING NEWSPAPER YESTERDAY IN THE CLASSIFIEDS AND I CAME ACROSS THIS IN THE PURE BREED SECTION.
FOR SALE : 1/2 WALKER 1/2 B&T FOR SALE
$ 200.00 M. $ 250.00 F. PARENTS
ARE PROVEN HUNTING DOGS. ??????
SO I DECIDED TO GIVE A CALL CUZ I WAS KINDA CURIOUS, THE
KID TOLD ME THAT HE BRED
THE B&TMALE TO HIS WALKER FEMALE BECAUSE HIS MALE WAS A BETTER DOG. SO I JUST THOUGHT I WOULD PUT THIS IN HERE TO SEE WHAT YOU PEOPL THOUGHT ABOUT THIS?

You are located in an area where pure bred hounds and competition hunting are rare. Y'all are smarter because you only want a hound that can strike and tree a cat or bear. We breed too much for pedigree and not enough for performance. If competition hunts ceased to exist and only pleasure and meat hunters remained, how many pure bred hounds would you expect to find? Heterosis increases opportunity for more desirable performance traits.
ARE YOU FAMILIAR WITH NEW MEXICO? THERE ARE ALOT OF HUNTERS THAT DO HUNT FOR COONS. MY POINT WAS I THINK WHY WOULD YOU MIX BREEDS LIKE THAT JUST BECAUSE YOU LIKE YOUR BLACK AND TAN BETTER? THIS DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE ,I DON'T THINK BECAUSE YOU WILL STILL HAVE WALKER BLOOD IN THE B&T BLOOD! BUT THEN I GUESS THE YOUNGER GENERATION JUST DOESN'T REALLY SEEM TO UNDERSTAND THE
ABOUT THE GENERATIONS AND THE BREEDS FROM A LONG LONG TIME AGO.

Well there could be many reasons why he did this, depending on his age,
lack of transportation to go to a good stud
low funds to pay for a stud fee
lack of desire to go find a stud for breeding
maybe he is just a hunter and don't care about papers
could be it was an accident, and now this is his story
or,
maybe he has not had anyone to hunt with, guide him, teach him and for his own part just didn't know any better
the younger generation may have different ideas than us, some good, some not, but without guidence, and our wisdom of history and the past if they do not learn it they are doomed to repeat it !!
