I got bit by a tick this summer. I've pulled off plenty over the years never had a problem. I noticed it was a little red, it was on back of my leg and I forgot about it.
A few days later I started having headaches and fever, my lymph nodes started swelling. I looked at it and it was red and black. The doc said the treatment for rocky mountain spotted fever and lime diesease was the same. A lot of antibiotics.

My son got it when he was about 8 or 9. He developed Lupus from it and almost died. He's 21 now and as long as he doesn't get too hot, he does OK.

My good friend had RMSF a few years ago. She was really sick. She had joint pain for a long time, to the point that she could not stand up for very long at all. She recovered, but it took a while.

TICK FEVER
I WAS JUST WANDERING I GOT IN A LOT OF TICKS BACK EARLY IN THE SUMMER AND THEN I HAVE BEEN SICK EVER SINCE I HAVE BEEN TO EVERY DOCTER AROUND AND THEY CANT FIND OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME BUT BRIGHT LIGHTS WALKING UP HILLS AND GETTING REALLY HOT AND DIZZY ARE MY SYMPTOMS I WAS JUST WANDERING IF THAT SOUNDS LIKE TICK FEVER FROM SOME ONE WHO HAS HAD IT FOR ABOUT FOUR MONTHS I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO COON HUNT OR ANY THING IS TICK FEVER HARD TO FIND OR DO THESE DOCTERS JUST DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.I WOULD APPRICIATE IT IF SOME ONE COULD GIVE ME A POINTER OR TWO ON TICK FEVER
Sounds like you may have it!The doctor treated me with DOXYCILEAN for 21 days. I am doing better. It got to were I could not walk good at all real bad joint pain and blurred vision, even sick and throwing up. It feels like a real , real bad flu.
Matt
It requires blood work. The hospital that I took my son to (he was 9 when he was bitten) said he was depressed and told me to keep him in "dark places for a while". OK.....
I went to our family Dr. on Monday and he sat in the floor with a HUGH book and talked to both of us until he got close to what he thought it was. This is rare around here. I thank God that he took the time with my son (who is now 21 and still struggles with heat and joint pain) Please get a second oppinion! For your sake as well as your family! It has progress to Lupus for Brooks.
Good luck and we will keep you in our prayers!
Cleo, Brooks and Dulin
