Redbone Breeder
Hello,
I am trying to find the best method for finding reputable breeders of redbone coonhounds that are located closer to me than the east coast or southeast. I live in the SF Bay Area (CA) and am not having a lot of luck. I am wondering what the best approach would be to derive a short list of such breeders.
Thanks,
Jeff

Hope you don't mind I jump in and offer......
OW Hill currently only has one dog in his kennels, which is Hondo. He has had alot of health problems in the past two years and regretfully, has not been able to do much breeding, showing or hunting.
OW also has another dog, Tulsa that is with Gene Allhands in Missouri for the time being.
Many of the dogs I own are from OW's stock. You can take a look at my website and see Vindicator, Chief (who we currently co -own with OW and is up for sale), Legend, Sadie and Axel. The link is:

(just copy and paste the link into your web browser).
As for Chawn Santana), she and Tiny have one female redbone that I know of. Comes from real nice lines (Childer's Razor and Key's Outlaw dogs). The dog that Chawn and Tiny has was bred by a gal in New York that owns the dogs I mentioned above. (Tracey Spillaine at WildCliff Redbones in Carmel, NY)
I am not sure of the others that were listed. But wanted to pass onto you, what info I know.

(no www - can you tell I am still new at this?! LOL)
thanks
Thanks for the quick responses and input. Any more is welcome.
Do you folks just know this stuff or is there some website that lists breeders of redbones?
If you join the national breed clubs, you get a yearbook which lists members by state.
Here in CA we hold UKC shows/hunts in the Galt and Oroville areas but there haven't been very many reds at them since OW quit breeding. The shows are usually held the first half of the year.
You can go to my links page and get lots of web sites for Redbones. Some are breeders and some are not.The address is http://pub40.bravenet.com/freelink/...24227&cpv=1 or if that doesn't work go to http://www.network54.com/Hide/Forum/125436 and then click on the Bravenet Links and it will take you there.
