Kennel Floors
I am getting ready to build a kennel with several stalls and such. I dont care much for concrete. What do you all use for kennel flooring?
I used to know of some stuff made for chicken brooder pens that snaps together anyone know where to get this?
Also if you have pics of your kennel setup please post them thanks.
I have horse stahl mats theyre thick like 3/4 in 4x6 i think like 40 buck at tsc but i like them works nice
I USE DUCK FLOORING. THEY ARE 49X 2FT TAKE 4 OF THEM AND IT MAKE 8FT RUN. I CAN GET THEM FOR $10 PANNEL

I use wood flooring. Works just fine for me.
I would pick concrete first, and wood flooring second. But I dont have any complaints.
I dont like wire flooring, it is hard on their feet.
I use concrete

I use wooden shiping pallets I can get them any size and the boards are spaced close together.(plus there free) flip them upside down 1x8 them together flip them back over, and there you have it. I also put blocks under them and get them up off the ground about 2 1/2 feet ill post pics tomorrow
concrete is the way to go for cleaning up and keeping worms and odor down. I have concrete indoor and out with horse stall mats inside. This works great for me.www.ccrkennel.com check out my kennel

flooring
I have a flooring made out of hog flooring that they put on feeding floors it is a diamond wire coated with rubber it really seems to work good and I think it will last forever I will see if I can find a place to buy it I didn't see the picture above but I have the same type of flooring it works very good but mine is on a old trailer house frame with kennels welded on top
I use concrete and love it, very easy to keep clean and disinfected.

Their website has it at 18.95 a sheet...Thats almost double what I paid 6-7 years ago....for some reason that dosent suprise me.
The tenderfoot hog flooring would work fine also Im sure, but it is going to cost a lot more....If your lucky you might find some used stuff that isnt wore out, problem is most of it has seen better days.
Concrete can work fine, But they seem to be forever wet, there is always piss running down the floor and the hair sticks like glue when the dogs are shedding JMO.
Sorry to clutter up the thread, but a few want to see another pic.

My uncles has concrete and i personal think it makes the dogs feet go flat. I use wood shavings in my kennels easy to clean with a dura-fork and i believe it is easy on there feet.

Concrete that is sealed and painted with concrete paint. It makes for easy cleanup. Raised kennels I could see issues with not being able to clean underneath. It seems it would create fly issues. The mats also seem like they would be a pain to clean.

Composite deck boards are good but are pricey. They will last indefinitely and can be put down with screws and are water proof.

I built a new kennel last fall under an existing lean-to off the shop. I used about 18-24 inches of lime screenings. Lime screenings are similar to lime but do have some heavier, bigger chunks of material similar to gravel but for the most part it packs down like lime.
I have a couple hounds that have dug some holes but it is pretty easy to just fill them back in. I'll spot fill it as needed in the spring with regular barn lime.
For the cost not a bad way to go.
I built my kennel under a lean to that is enclosed on the 3 sides. Only the kennel fronts face the outdoors. It works really well for me.
If I were to build and outdoor kennel from scratch, I'd use flooring similar to what Josh is using.
