Garmin Astro & New England Terrain

I am considering purchasing a Garmin Astro w/ the new collar. I had an oppourtunity to see one working in Ohio. Looked pretty slick. We saw that a dog was getting close to the road and were able to drive around and intercept. Sounds like it could help in preventing a dog from getting killed.....
Does anyone in New England own one? If so, I would like some feedback on range , reliability & your opinion on the unit.

Thanks
Jim

I have seen them in use here in Central New York which is as hilly or hillier than New England and they work fine.
